Hey.. myself and my partner are struggling to find baby boy names we both like. I like more unusual names however my partner doesn't.
I really like Marley but struggling to find a middle name for, my grandparent is John and his father is Leonard (Leo) I think Marley John flows quite nicely but partner hates it !!

His list of names:
Colton, Remi and Leo.

My list of names:
Hunter
Huxley
Reid
Marley

Any suggestions welcome x

Out of these I think Remi and Leo are the nicest. How about
Zac
Arlo
Asa
Cole

I would suggest his list of names are much more unusual than yours. Every other child seems to be a Hunter or Huxley at the moment. They're great names, but unusual they aren't.

HasselbackForLife · 17/08/2021 21:57

...but just to add that Marley is lovely

Mpsister · 17/08/2021 22:02

Leo is lovely, but I really dislike the rest. I'm really sorry, but to me the others are just dreadful. Also, isn't Remi a girl's name?

As I said he doesn't like my unusual names so I'm not allowed the names I like. Those list of mine are the ones he's agreed on but still isn't 100%

His list are the only ones of his that I also like. His others were Alex, Michael etc

I have only ever met one Remi, spelt Remi. He was a boy.

I agree Hunter and Huxley aren't very rare anymore - they have become quite well used in some areas. I know two Huxleys and a Hunter. I also know a little girl named Marley (parents big fans of Bob!).

Of his names, I like Leo, of yours, Reid is quite cool! I think Cole has a similar vibe which I also like.

But I would say that if you specifically want rare names I'd look for names that are properly rare (using the darkgreener site for example) as opposed to these names which are untraditional but trendy and probably will be several kids with these names in some circles.

As for suggestions, I feel that your partner might like short, simple but cool names like Max, Otto, Jago, Rudy, Caspar? From your list names like Cole, Colby, Hudson come to mind. More American style?

How about

Asher?
Blake?
Micah?
Oakley?
Parker?
Raffety?
Roman?
Zeke?
