I like Kerryn a lot! I think it's pretty without being frilly and it goes from child to adult well.
I've known two and I don't think it's too difficult to recognise as a different name to Karen. I imagine it will be occasionally misheard for Karen but I don't think thats a big deal.

I met a lovely one (not a child) which helps trigger positive connections to the name.

If you already have a Karen, I think it's too close. How about Malyn(n), Merrin, or Seren?

Pumpkinstace · 19/08/2021 23:43

I have a Celyn, pronounced Kelin.

BertieBob · 19/08/2021 23:54

My male cousin is called Kerin, I've since taught a girl called Kerren.
Both unusual and nice names. I'm not sure of the origin.

GreyhoundG1rl · 19/08/2021 23:55

No, it sounds like a mashup of Karen and Kerry.

WhoppingBigBackside · 20/08/2021 09:47

I don't like it, but I don't particularly like Kerry, Cerys, Carys, Keira etc either.

ElvisPresleyHadABaby · 20/08/2021 17:31

Merryn I love, also know a Kesia?

Candyapple49 · 20/08/2021 17:50

I have never heard it before but love it . It sounds very pretty and makes me think of Kirren Island in the Famous Five ( a good thing !) way more than Karen .

drpet49 · 20/08/2021 17:56

Sounds a bit chavvy to me

pickingdaisies · 20/08/2021 18:00
