What are your thoughts on Nikki for a girl, not a nn just Nikki.

I also once new a girl named Kiki, again not a nn but her fullname. Thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
StevieNix · 01/08/2021 17:48

No it’s so dated!
I do love the name Nicole though!

scrivette · 01/08/2021 17:51

Go for it! It's very 80's but I find that refreshing after all the other so similar names I hear again and again. I would like to hear of a little 'Nikki'.

RuthW · 01/08/2021 18:21

It's awful imo

miltonj · 01/08/2021 18:25

As in Nicky? Yep I love it. Nicole or Nicola too would be refreshing to hear on a baby. But Nicky/Nikki fine in it's own right too.

BackforGood · 01/08/2021 18:32

I like Nicole or Nicola, and don't mind them being shortened as the name owner prefers, but I don't like it as a stand alone.

KiKi is awful. sounds like a lap dancer's pseudonym to me.

Suspicioussam · 01/08/2021 20:04

I like it, prefer it spelt Nicky and as a nickname. I love Nicky for a boy.

TabithaTiger · 01/08/2021 20:07

I think KiKi's a great name, but it's very marmite! I don't like Nikki, it's too 80's. How about Victoria, nn Vicki?

pilates · 01/08/2021 20:11

Nikki dated
Don’t dislike Kiki

PumpkinKlNG · 01/08/2021 20:22

It’s dated to me, vicki is even worst though

AnneElliott · 01/08/2021 20:27

I'm biased as the Nikki I knew was an absolute cow. So no I wouldn't op.

Jossbow · 01/08/2021 20:30

Kiki is fine as long as she has a brother called Hector

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 01/08/2021 20:37

Kiki has a cutesy retro vibe like Gigi or Mimi imo - so it's not my taste, but I do understand why people would use it, especially as a nn. Nikki/Nicky is just dated, I'm afraid - it's a Kelly, Tiffany, Becky, Vicki sort of 80's name. It's not unusable but I think most people in the UK would be surprised to meet a female Nikki/Nicky under 30.

spaceghetto · 01/08/2021 20:43

I really like Nikki!

jakeyboy1 · 01/08/2021 21:00

I prefer Nikki to Kiki. Kiki is used in Germany I think. Nikki reminds me of supermodel Niki Taylor. Slight 80s tones but so what, due a comeback!

SardineJam · 01/08/2021 21:03

Nikki is great 👍👍

ohthejoy21 · 01/08/2021 22:09

This a hilarious! I'm sitting here with a nicola who I call Nikki and a Kiki right now! All of us are 40's and they're the coolest people I know!

Buttercup54321 · 01/08/2021 22:19

Very dated, although I actually quite like Nicola, not shortened.
Kiki was a parrot in a Blyton book. I have heard of Kiana shortened to Kiki though.

Enko · 02/08/2021 08:43

I like it. I am not British so less of a dated thing for me. I've known 2 Nikki/Nicky and both are lovely (one i count as a close friend) so for me lovely association

orangejuicer · 02/08/2021 08:45

Nicola would give you options for nicknames but Nikki on its own is nice.

PearlFriday · 02/08/2021 08:49

Nicola is ok though. I quite like that. It's just girls my age many years ago used to spell their name Nikki and put a heart over at least one of the 'i's

Agree that Nicola could be Colette Nico Coco as well as just Nicky however you spell it.

Violetlavenders · 02/08/2021 09:37

Nicole is beautiful and refreshing.

PattyPan · 03/08/2021 10:25

Nikki is very dated and doesn’t pass the rest of can you imagine a doctor/judge/etc with this as their (full) name. Nicola is also dated but I love Nicole.
