I think 'exotic' could mean different things - depends hugely on what you consider 'normal'.

Tiddleztheelephant · 30/07/2021 18:12

Of the names on your list I would only consider Aariya "exotic" the other 3 are nice names but all quite well used in our area.
I went to school with a girl named Zulieka which means beautiful. I've always liked it.

Chunkymenrock · 30/07/2021 18:13

Suki, Phaedra, Damaris.

LynetteScavo · 30/07/2021 18:18

Heidi is the least "exotic" name I can think of.

Katinka

I think of Zephyr and Neroli as being exotic.

Katefoster · 30/07/2021 20:37

Saskia

@LynetteScavo

Heidi is the least "exotic" name I can think of.
Really? Less exotic than Gladys, Beryl or Mavis?
LynetteScavo · 30/07/2021 21:47

@Chunkymenrock - definitely less exotic than Beryl, at least its Greek. Maybe not Welsh Gladys. Or ye olde Mavis, but certainly a lot more common and usual!
Adelheid, which Heidi
originally was the short form of, is slightly more exotic, if Germanic names can be considered exotic. I guess it depends where you're from.

Standrewsschool · 30/07/2021 22:12

Yasmin
Saskia
Suki

I wouldn’t consider Heidi exotic either, unless you consider exotic meaning not English. Heidi is generally associated with the book and tv series of a young Heidi living in the Swiss alps.
