Carlin/carlyn after a family member named Caroline? I've been watching bringing up the bates and it's really growing on me

Is it for a boy or a girl? I know one adult man called Carlin, I quite like the name. Don't think I like it for a girl, though.

Reminds me of working in a pub in South London, "I'll have a Carlin' darlin' ".

As soon as I saw the title, I just thought "Wanna can of Carlin'?" 😂

Caroline is gorgeous, can't you just use that? Nickname Carrie or Callie? Or even use Carrie/Callie as full name? Just not Carlin/Carlyn!

Never heard of it and it sounds made up. I had to read the thread to work out if it was supposed to be a boy's name or a girl's name.

Like pp, love both Carrie and Callie as NNs for Caroline or Carolyn.

I immediately thought of the Bates Family so it's a no from me.

I assumed it was a boys name.
