I think it's fine. I don't have that connection and I'm in my late twenties if that's relevant. The worst that will happen is some people might say 'oh like Hughie Green?' and you can say it's not. Hugo is a popular name, which makes it even less of an issue.

I don’t know who Hughie Green is but I don’t like that it sounds like you go green. I sympathise OP as our surname is also an adjective so we also have to avoid certain names!
