We are really struggling to find a boy's name we like and can agree on

We both think Flynn is ok, but don't love it.

Any other ideas?
We like short names. Examples of what we like but can't use are James, Alex, Harry, Zack, Finn, Ben, Jack

I have a Fynn.

DelurkingAJ · 23/07/2021 09:19

It’s the fire engine train in Thomas the Tank Engine. But I think everyone will get over that and it’s not a bad thing (my first thought was ‘fiery Flynn’.

I like that it’s fairly simple but not too common whilst being an actual name!

Henry rather than Harry? Joseph, Nicholas (Nick), Luke?

Pingued · 23/07/2021 09:22

I like Flynn
I dont like Glyn though.

George? Mason? Brad?

sarah13xx · 23/07/2021 10:26

Finn is my favourite of all time, really love it! Flynn is nice too

FayeFayeFayeFayeFaye · 23/07/2021 10:50

I like it.

QueenAdreena · 23/07/2021 10:52

Love Flynn. We used it as a middle name.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/07/2021 10:58

Quite trendy - but does have a kind of cool, retro image some of the other names in the "surname as given names" trend don't have imo (thanks to Errol Flynn).

Short names not mentined yet that I like are Heath, Hugh, Max, John, Laith, Zev, Lev, Ivo, Adam, Owen, Evan, Orin, Rowan, Corin, Sam(uel), Xan(der).

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/07/2021 10:59

Oh and I meant to say, I quite like Flynn - it has a nice sound imo.

Cominghome1230 · 23/07/2021 11:48

I really like Luke @DelurkinfAJ but unfortunately my partner hates it.

@IamnotwhouthinkIam good suggestions. Thank you. I really like Max, John and Adam

YellowMonday · 23/07/2021 15:56

River and Oscar are very in (in Australia). I do love Rowan (Ro as a nickname).

YellowMonday · 23/07/2021 15:56

And Finn is adorable.

I love it and it was on my list at number 2 but it's a close family member's surname.

The boy who played the main character in The Snow Spider is called Fflyn which I assume is the Welsh spelling. I thought this was pretty cool too.

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 23/07/2021 16:36

I'm saving it though in case we have a DDog in the future though... 🐾

It's a surname of course , from 'flann' meaning 'ruddy ' in Irish. But if the sound goes with your own surname , why not?
