Associations. Have had some mixed reaction.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It should be the Taming of the Shrew (and thus kind of classy and elegant), but to be honest I also get the opposite vibe too (I think Eastenders has ruined Bianca for while longer, sorry - and I never even watched that programme!).

I love it.
The Rickaaay association will be less and less relevant

Makes me think of Bianca Pitzorno (Italian children's author) and Bianca Balti.
It's a nice classic, currently a bit overused in Italy.

It's quite a nice name if it wasn't for the Eastenders connection

But that will be nonexistent to the peer group of a baby being born now, so surely not an issue?
I think it's a lovely name.

Del Rio.
Fabulous drag queen. Not today Satan.

I hate it. It has an unpleasant sound.

It’s beautiful!!! The Rickaaaaay thing was when I was about 10 so when I met the Bianca in my son’s class it did not cross my mind. So it won’t be a problem for kids I’m sure. The bianca we know is 6 and Italian. Lovely classy fresh name.

I'm in Italy. It's 146 in the name charts and 20% of those are in one northern region. I've only ever taught one (in 27 years) and have a friend called Bianca, but she's Albanian.
It's considered sort of "nouveau" yet old-fashioned at the same time, if that makes sense. Most are in their 40s-50s.

It was the 18th most popular name for baby girls born in 2019 (source ISTAT). It's more common in the north of the country, but it's certainly not unusual anymore.

I did think ‘Rickaaaayyy!’ and ‘Not today, Satan’ Grin.

But I also knew a beautiful, Italian Bianca and I think it’s a name you could easily lose the above connotations once you knew a Bianca. It’s a pretty name.

The Taming of the Shrew and The Rescuers.
