We have a Niamh! Our other options were Anna, Maria, Matilda and Beatrice.

I'd choose Patrick for a boy and Naomi for a girl.

I would also rule out Luke due to the gospels. Of your list I really like Joseph and Samuel for a boy, my first thought was James when I saw your thread title which also fits with your biblical theme.

Emily and Eva from your girls names go best. If you wanted to stick with the biblical theme Lydia, Leah, Naomi, Sarah and Elizabeth are all nice.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Today I'm really liking Emily so nice to see people think it goes well with the boys names. Im liking Emily Alice, Emily Elizabeth, or Emily Iris. I find a lot of the girls names that are similar in style to my boys names seem to sound dated, whereas the boy names haven't dated in the same way.

To answer some of the questions, Luke is my least favourite out of the four. I can't use John instead of Jack as it's my husband's brothers name, also already have a Benjamin and a Daniel in the family which are also names I love. Lot of people on here have said using Luke with Matthew is a bit too biblical, I was expecting people to think the same about Joseph too, no? I'm not sure if Matthew and Joseph sounds a bit too much like Mary and Joseph?? Out of Joe and Sam I don't think there's one I like over the other, I like both equally.

@Violet1988, the NT gospels are Matthew, Mark, Luke, John.

It's not that Matthew and Luke are biblical, Thomas is too, it's that they are closely associated.

Both are nice names.

Matthew and Joseph doesn't sound like Mary and Joseph.

I think Jacob would fit nicely with your boys.
Emily is classic & timeless, as is Rachel.

Jack and Emily are my favourites. Samuel and Joseph are good too.

David, Nicholas, Christopher or Daniel.

Jessica, Rebecca, Eliza or Sarah.

Of yours I’d go for Samuel or Emily.

Because I find it mildly irritating when people don't come back and update baby name threads I had to come back and update my own.

My baby boy was born at the beginning of December 2021 and we called him Joseph William.

Samuel or Emily. Suit the classic traditional ones you have already.
