I like Beatrice with Bea for short :)

ScribblyBaller · 24/06/2021 15:58

I like Maggie and Stephanie.

DoucheCanoe · 24/06/2021 16:01

I like Eliza and Phillipa/Pippa.

Stephanie and Beatrice are fine.

I dislike Margaret/Maggie.

Suggestions - Erica, Louisa, Lenora/Nora, Julianna, Juliette, Clarice, Angelica.

FolornLawn · 24/06/2021 16:03

Eliza or Beatrice. I quite like Pippa even though it's a bit horsey, but really don't like Philippa.

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 24/06/2021 16:05

Maggie and Stephanie

Pippa in my head is 'chair of the pta' with a clipboard...

Beatrice is ok I'd have Beattie as nickname rather than Bea

Eliza is ok just a bit popular where I am

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 24/06/2021 16:05

I like Kitty and Norah

FayCarew · 24/06/2021 18:09

Margaret/Maggie - fine
Philippa/Pippa - fine but of the Philippas I know 2 are Phil, one is Flip and one is Pippa.
Beatrice - ok. Beattie is nice as a nn
Eliza - ok, but a bit 'current'
Stephanie - ok, Stevie is nice as nn

Violetlavenders · 24/06/2021 18:13

Stephanie sounds so refreshing! I like it a lot. I also like Beatrice.

HappyDaysToCome · 24/06/2021 18:15

Margaret/Maggie, Eliza and Beatrice all great.

Not personally keen on Stephanie or Philippa.

Lotsachocolateplease · 24/06/2021 18:49

Beatrice is my fave from your list followed by Pippa as a stand alone name - dislike phillipa.
Stephanie is a pretty name, you don’t hear it very often anymore.
How about
Clementine nn Clemmie
Felicity
Penelope
Katherine
Caroline

Hippohappiness · 24/06/2021 18:49

Margaret/Maggie - I really like Maggie, but not Margaret, though could never use either due to Thatcher Confused
Philippa/Pippa - not keen
Beatrice - nice, but prefer Beatrix
Eliza - ok but a bit dull
Stephanie - bit dated

AnxiousAnnie86 · 24/06/2021 18:57

@yellowmelon I love Beatrice we have Beatrix on ours came down to the last two! We also had Eliza and Maggie! All lovely names x

TatianaBis · 24/06/2021 19:49

Beatrice is the stand out. Don’t like the others.

Hughbert · 24/06/2021 19:56

Stephanie is a bit of a wildcard on that list! I went to school with one in the early 80s. She wore a side pony tail with a large bow. Like all the others, esp Maggie and Beatrice.

sarah13xx · 24/06/2021 20:52

Pippa is beautiful

Pigeonorcoot · 24/06/2021 22:38

Margaret/Maggie - love it. They'll also have the option of Daisy or Meg.
Philippa/Pippa - like, although the Philippa i went to school with was known as Phil.
Beatrice - dislike. Much prefer Beatrix.
Eliza - Nice. Not hugely exciting.
Stephanie - very cool. Love Stevie (Schitt's Creek fan)

MondeoFan · 24/06/2021 22:44

All good apart from Stephanie

SoapboxFox · 24/06/2021 23:04

I think Stephanie is due a comeback. I also like Beatrice and Philippa (Pippa).

skipperdoo · 25/06/2021 08:43

Phillipa/Pippa!

OnAndNo · 25/06/2021 08:45

Eliza

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 25/06/2021 08:48

From you list, Eliza definitely.

Phoebesgift · 25/06/2021 10:26

I like Pippa. None of the rest are my taste.

35andThriving · 30/06/2021 13:22

I think Eliza is great. Smile

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 30/06/2021 21:59

Stephanie would stand out now (in a good way to me) and nn Stevie is very cool on a girl. But it's possible your DD could see it as a Mum name...

I like your other choices too apart from Eliza, which is quite trendy at the moment - although as a nn for lovely Elizabeth it's fine.

Beatrice is the "safest" of your choices imo and also my fave- it is unfortunately top 100 popular but Shakespearean/Literary so hopefully it shouldn't date too much. NN Bea is super cute.

Traditional Margaret is now retro cool - but you are mostly ahead of the pack which your daughter may or may not appreciate. However she has loads of nn to choice from if she's not keen - as well as Maggie there's Greta, Mae, Meg, Peggy, Margot...

Philippa is also quite a safe classic choice and my second fave - it's never really been in or out of fashion, and the nn Pip is adorable.

ShitPoetryClub · 01/07/2021 09:52

I like Margaret, Phillipa and Eliza the best.
Don't like Stephanie at all. I think its not dated well at all.
Do you like Erica?
