I'm pregnant with my first and we're not finding out the sex. I love Olive for a girl and I think we're set on that but I'm really struggling with boys. I'll list some that I like by my husband dosent or it's just not quite right. I don't like anything too popular but that's about it. Surname is quite Sssy so have to be careful with S names.

Ralph- I like it but somethings not right
Hector- same
Jasper- same again
Rex- my fave but husband hates
Barnaby- I love my husband again hates

Please, any suggestions welcome!!
Thanks x

I love Rex so much!! Convince your husband Smile

Arrierttyclock · 25/06/2021 20:50

Love Dougie! It's such a shame he dosent like Rex 😭 he says to him it's a baby name but to me it's Rex from desperate housewives so I don't really get it. I did ask him to write a list of names down and he finally has so his suggestions are

Wyatt
Eli
Axel
Frederick
Alexander ( this used to be my most loved name
But I just feel like it's way too popular and obvious)

Really shocked at his choices. He's never hinted what he's liked before!

I like Wyatt.

How about Elias, Alexi or Alasdair?

Arrierttyclock · 25/06/2021 21:18

@Happenchance ooh Alexi. I like that! Isit too feminine though would be my only worry but I do really like that and I've listed it thank you! I much prefer Elias to Eli too!

Just told my husband about Alexi and he went into tbis huge rant about Alexis Sanchez who cost United millions and he would never name his child it. It's not even the same name. I wish he wasn't so football oriented!

I quite like Frederick and Alexander from his list. Cute nickname potential.

Tuberoses · 26/06/2021 10:38

I was desperate to call my son Taliesin, nn Tally. But DH wouldn’t let me ☹️

BeachSunsets · 26/06/2021 10:48

If you like Olive for a girl, how about Oliver for a boy?!

Arrierttyclock · 26/06/2021 10:52

I like Frederick too but Freddie is so overused.

I've always loved Alexander but again ifs just so popular.

Don't like Oliver at all sorry.

@Tuberoses Ah that's a shame it's a sweet name, what did you end up calling him?

Arrierttyclock · 26/06/2021 10:59

Hopefully it will be a girl and we're sorted 😂 any guesses 🤣

Ralph? Seems a good fit to your taste in names and it's not too popular

Arrierttyclock · 26/06/2021 11:19

I love Ralph but my husbands not that keen. I think he could round tho.

Mishmased · 26/06/2021 11:31

How about Elijah? You can shorten to Eli.

Arrierttyclock · 26/06/2021 11:37

@Mishmased really like that and good compromise! Thank you

@Arrierttyclock what about the name Quinn or Quincey instead of Quinten, if the latter rhymes with your surname?

antibacterial · 29/06/2021 16:41

@Arrierttyclock that nub does look like a girl but I'm not an expert and depends on the baby gestation

MadameOvary81 · 29/06/2021 16:43

Could Caspian be an option as an alternative to Casper?
