Help me choose...baby girl

Hi. We can't decide between our short list of names for our baby girl. We have

Annie - both DH and I like, but I am worried about her getting called Annie fanny at school!

Alma - DH less keen, is my nans middle name and possibly top of my list.

Evelyn - Pronounced ever-lynn. We both like this, but I think it's rising quite alot in popularity and I don't want her to be one of a few in her class when she's older

Heidi - both DH and I like and it's only just come into the mix recently. Not sure if it's my favourite.

Any help or suggestions would be fab thanks!

Love Heidi, Annie is nice too.

HelloBunny · 23/06/2021 14:19

Alma is so unusual, I like it.

Theoldwoman · 23/06/2021 14:20

The only one from your list I like is Heidi.

Suggestions:

Juliet
Amelia
Lucy
Ruby
Ella
Charlotte
Rhiannon
Kate
Olive
Laura
Felicity
Genevieve

Evelyn is already massively popular and will just get lost in the sea of Eve/Evie’s.

Annie is cute.

Not a fan of Alma, it’s old fashioned but not in a good way.

Heidi is really nice, I like it.

olidora63 · 23/06/2021 14:22

Annie and Heidi…both lovely names.

wizzler · 23/06/2021 14:25

Like Annie but love Anna

DotDotDotDotDot · 23/06/2021 14:38

Evelyn is my favourite from your list although the 3 different pronunciations might get annoying. Had never thought of Annie Fanny before but now it’s hard to forget! Maybe Anna, Anya, Nina or Eliza for suggestions.

TatianaBis · 23/06/2021 14:59

Heidi

Winwins · 23/06/2021 15:12

Heidi is my favourite of those

Fivemoreminutes1 · 23/06/2021 15:23

I prefer Annie and Heidi.
Ada
Adelaide
Adelyn
Everly

Fivemoreminutes1 · 23/06/2021 15:25

Anya
Alba
Etta

Fivemoreminutes1 · 23/06/2021 15:25

Anneliese

PurpleyBlue · 23/06/2021 15:27

Alma is my favourite

Dinopee · 23/06/2021 15:44

I love Heidi.

Annie- every one I’ve ever known it’s been short for something else eg Anastasia or Annabel - I’d be inclined to use Anna.

Evelyn- already massively popular and nigh on guaranteed to be one of five Eve/Eva/Evie/Evelyns in the class (position 181, 35, 15,20 in popularity rankings)

Alma- don’t have strong feelings, prefer Alba

JeanClaudeVanDammit · 23/06/2021 15:46

I like Heidi best from your list.

Spied · 23/06/2021 15:48

I love Heidi

IggyAce · 23/06/2021 15:52

I’d go with Heidi or Alma if you don’t want a popular name.
I’d definitely cross Evelyn of the list it’s popular as is Eve & Evie.

Posieandpip · 23/06/2021 16:57

Annie or Alma 😍

Synchrony · 23/06/2021 17:09

Annie or Heidi.
I would never think of Annie Fanny. Does anyone really say that?!
Alma is unpleasant to say imo, for some reason.
Evelyn in my accent has no R so EveR-lyn annoys me.

Peachbubble · 23/06/2021 17:32

Heidi would be my choice. Not keen on Annie or Evelyn, Alma is OK.

MissingTheMoonlight · 23/06/2021 17:40

I like them all except find Annie a bit boring. Funnily, I prefer Anna.

Alma means soul in Portuguese so is my fave; I think it's becoming more popular in the last few years.

Aria999 · 23/06/2021 17:57

Another vote for Heidi

I think Alma sounds old fashioned.

I quite like Annie

Evelyn always reminds me of the villain in a children's book I read called Evelyn Carnate (say it out loud)

PattyPan · 23/06/2021 18:01

I don’t really like Annie as a full name but I don’t think Annie fanny needs to be a concern. My thoughts were little orphan Annie, especially if she’s a redhead.
Alma is a bit boring and Heidi falls under the dislike for nicknames as names and it’s a bit twee on its own. It’s short for Adelheid (Adelaide) which I like.
Evelyn is nice.

Watermelon221 · 23/06/2021 18:05

I like Alma and Evelyn.

Prefer Anna to Annie.
