I need help, my dad is french and I always had my heart set on a french name for my child.
Vivienne and Margaux were my top names but my friend used Vivienne for her baby so that’s now out sadly.
I still love the name Margaux but our surname is Owens
Is Margaux Owens too much of a tongue twister?
What’s everyone’s thoughts on this name?

It does kinda run into each other so one long name?

DramaAlpaca · 20/06/2021 00:03

Marguerite with the nn Margaux?

I know it's not traditional, but it might work.

It is a bit hard to pronounce. I got in a muddle when I tried to say it fast.

One of my favourite girl’s name is Aimee. But I have no French connection at all so it felt a bit pretentious. I thought about Amy but having seen Aimee, Amy just seemed so disappointing in comparison!

Tbh there are much lovelier French names you could choose. Margaux isn't a proper name, it's a wine. Margaux Hemingway is the most famous person with this name but she herself was named after the Wine. Plus it doesn't go with Owens.

Margaux Hemingway was actually named Margot.

I think it works just fine! How often do you full name someone anyway?!

ScribblyBaller · 21/06/2021 21:19

Pretty often.
