Baby girls names

Recently found out we’re having a baby girl and names are soooo difficult.

We were convinced she was going to be a boy (boy heavy family) and had agreed on a name pretty easily! But girls we cannot agree on.

I absolutely LOVE Eliza, but OH isn’t keen. His favourite is Isabella (I like it but wanted something less popular).

Any suggestions welcome ☺️. Middle name is 100% going to be Ivy for sentimental reasons xxx

If you love Eliza then Elizabeth goes with Ivy and you could use Eliza as a shortening. Eliza was on my short list too. Other names I liked were:

Eloise
Lois
Charlotte
Penelope
Jennifer
Stella/Estella

Arabella? Similar but a bit more unusual than Isabella?

Or maybe Isadora?

Alissa / Alyssa? Or Elise?

A bit of a both your choices

Christabel

Estelle

Why not Ivy as a first name? It’s lovely and unusual

Eliza is lovely but close on as popular as the equally lovely Isabella, specially if you count in Elizabeth.

So maybe - Estella, Elowen, Adela, Ysella (Ee-sella - Cornish), Iona, Ismene (Is-may-nee), Rosaria, Arabella, Leonora, Louisa, Luella, Serena, Cassia, Isadora, Christabel, Alicia, Marianne, Eloise.... any good?!

Ivy is a nice middle too, but again getting v popular so I think good to avoid as a first

I'd give her Ivy as a first name, it's lovely.

Isabella is a right old mouthful in my opinion. My friends daughter is called that and they just end up calling her Bella.

I'd hold out for Eliza, it's lovely. But Elise and Elsie are both nice too.

Millicent was also another, with Millie for short (but again I know that’s super popular).

Names become popular because they are great names! Mine all have popular names and they love them. All adults now.

If middle name is Ivy, I wouldn’t use Isabella.

Eliza ivy doesn’t flow. Maybe it’s the vowel thing.

@Mariex1989 we have the same taste! I suggested those as they were on my list along with Eliza for DC2&3.
I ended up having 2 sons so they’ve not been used 😂

Isabella is such a gorgeous name! Go with that or perhaps Annabella/Arabella/Araminta if you want something different..

@Cressie2 Isabella was always my favourite name, but when I found out I was pregnant I suddenly went off it and I have no idea why 🙈 I think I’m just scared I’ll miss out on one for just going with one without looking elsewhere and regret it later. Although I’m not sure I’m ready to give up on Eliza just yet ☺️.
