Overthinking names and going crazy..

I gave birth to my beautiful daughter recently and she still doesn't have a name. We couldn't agree on a name before she was born and now I think I'm losing my mind overthinking all of our options and it's causing me a lot of anxiety.

I can give you an example of how my brain is working atm:

Lydia - lovely old family name, but what about chlamydia, Aunt Lydia and it being a bible name

Maia - my dh's favourite, but all the endless spelling and pronounciation issues

Olivia/Lily/Amelia - nice but can't use since too common

Elsie - lovely and vintage, but also a nn and only suitable for a little girl?

Matilda - gorgeous strong and old name, but also don't like any of the obvious nicknames, she would be called Tilda which I heard could be 'dildo' in high school

Vivian- too masculine and Vivienne too feminine

How can I possibly decide on a name for my perfect daughter that can have so many negatives included, I don't even know which name I like anymore. Please help :(

@Leeloo1233 I just have to say I completely know how you feel. I also totally agonised over my daughters name when she was born and found the whole process incredibly stressful (hormones and constant texts asking about the name didn't help!). I think in the end you just have to try to go with your gut and ignore other opinions and then just try to commit to it.

They are all lovely names...any of which would suit both a baby and an adult........maybe just try calling her then in turn....or write them on pieces of paper...and pull out of cup ...and pick that way...if you pull out one and you think great..love it..chose it ....otherwise it gets discarded...sometimes forcing the choice is the only way:)

My favourites, by far are Lydia and Matilda.
I would use the nicknames of Liddy and Millie/Milly.

Similar to me are:
Tabitha
Beatrix
Imogen
Jemima
Rosalind
Violet
Sabrina

@Leeloo1233 What did you go for in the end?

Freya is lovely, I also like Elsi.
I notice you have put Lydia in first position each time which makes me think this is your subconscious first choice... go with that!

I love Elsie. It was in my top 3 but DH doesn't like it. I would chose it in a heartbeat though
