Hello! I am having a baby boy this year and have started putting together a list of names... Can you suggest anything similar to what I like, for me to consider?

My surname is one syllable.

Thoughts on my name list also appreciated :)

Frederick
Edward
Maximilian
Felix
Jasper
Alfred

Thank you xx

I like all of yours, particularly Frederick, Edward and Maximilian. I also like Charles, Henry/Harry, James and William (quite traditional taste!) and Rupert.

Really like Frederick, Edward, Maximilian and Alfred - all very classic. My fave is Edward since it's the most timeless (and has the most nickname options too). But I'd pick based on what nn's you most like or dislike - as he will very likely be Max or Freddie if you choose the longer versions (I suppose Edward and Alfred being only 2 syllables could be slightly more likely to get their full name used - although Alfie and Teddy seem quite popular!).

Similar names imo - Alexander, James, Henry, William, John, Robert, Nicholas, Hugh and Phillip.

Btw - there is nothing wrong with Felix or Jasper, they just feel a bit trendy to me compared to your other choices.

Marcus
Quentin
Reuben

Id probably choose a two syllable name that doesn't get shorten regularly as you have a very short surname.

Thank you everyone, really appreciate your suggestions! I'm pleased the names have gone down well. Sadly can't use William Alexander or James as already taken by family.

I guess Felix and Jasper are the two "trendy" names I've thrown in. We do like them but not sure if they'll go down well with the grandparents.
