A friend named her daughter Aspen. She's nearly 3

I think it could be a boy or girl. But it sounds so lispy and wet. And potentially would be shortened to arse/ass by other children

It sounds like a female character in a teenage US Netflix show - which may be the vibe you're going for. I don't like it, sorry.

I'm sure the "first British Gay Dads" couple many years ago named their twins Saffron and Aspen, only time I recall hearing it as a name but it's ok.
