Just wanting to put the feelers out with this name for DD1?

I love it. I'm not even quite sure why but somehow the name is a different word, than the word for cat.

I would use a longer 'proper' name. Katherine seems obvious but you could use Catriona, Christina or even Christabel.

It’s beautiful I have known two and no teasing at all. Earl Spencer’s niece is Kitty, though I am unsure if that is NN for a longer name.

Kitty cat - it’s very little and weak for a full name, but Ok as a nn for Katherine/Katrina/whatever - that way if it doesn’t suit her she has options.

Really like it! Would but a longer name on the BC though incase she grows up and is a bit of a tomboy or something, I’d imagine it’s quite a hard name to pull off if you’re not super girly

It's not a standalone name to me, but it's very sweet as a childhood diminutive of Katherine or similar names.

It can be shortened further to Kit - I know a couple of adult creative types that go by Kit and it really suits them

To clarify, as a nickname very cute but as others have said I think a nickname and not proper name.

Looks like it’s very popular, I suppose we all like different names otherwise we would all call our kids the same names!

Kathleen - always known as Kitty / Kit by everyone.
Except on her birthday when my uncle used to raise a glass to her and say 'Happy Birthday my Kathleen.'
And she used to reply 'oh be quiet you old fool' and wink at him.
They adored each other.

Really like it! I met a little one once (unsure if it was a full name or nickname) and it doesn't strike me as remotely teasable. It's a well known name, a bit unusual but traditional and quite fashionable at the moment.

My Grandmother Kathleen was known as Kitty. It's lovely

I think it’s one of those old lady names that’s having a bit of a resurgence.

I agree with a PP that children don’t really tease each other for their names as much as is suggested on here. I was a primary school teacher for many years and rarely saw it.
Even the most common names will be new to many children on starting school, so pretty much anything goes without judgement.
