Please help me think of some boys names I might like! I prefer one syllable boys names, favourites which I cannot use are:

Max (friends son)
Finn (close family member)
Jake (too similar to DH's name)
Zach (DH says its too American Hmm)

Ideally more traditional names than surnames (Blake / Cole etc)

Can't get more traditional than John.

CoalCraft · 13/05/2021 06:29

I'm sure many of these have already been suggested, and some are actually diphthongs do stretching the one syllable thing a bit, but (in no particular order and regardless of my opinion of them):

I love Rex, Miles, Guy and John.

Rex is 100% my boys name. It’s kingly not doggy. Maybe dinosaury but t-rex is fabulous.

BigusBumus · 13/05/2021 07:25

@HairyToity Yes Ned! I know two adult Neds and they are both great. Brilliant name.

Violetlavenders · 13/05/2021 11:16

ned
/nɛd/

nounDEROGATORY •INFORMAL

1	a hooligan or petty criminal.
◦	a stupid or loutish boy or man.

That's what I associate with Ned, unfortunately.

GodolphinHorne · 14/05/2021 19:34

I support Hugh and John. And also Guy.

If you’re Scottish, NED = non-educated delinquent

Probably best not to saddle a baby with this

AsanteSanaSquashBanana · 14/05/2021 21:34

Or Ned Flanders Grin

I also like Seth but can't get the image of the old guy from Emmerdale out of my head
