Too Royal? Too French? 😂

Really struggling with boys names, the only other one I love is Rory, which I can't use.

What's the mumsnet view on Louis?

Would you automatically pronounce it Loo-ee, or Loo-is?

Louis is fine (and I'd assume it was pronounced Louie unless told otherwise - but I really dislike the Louie spelling). I don't think of the current royal family with the name - more past French Kings (like with the names Francis and Henri). But I certainly don't think it's too Royal/Kingly or French to use- it's not unusual enough for that (perhaps 30 years ago, but not now).

That's what I called my ds who was born this year, he suits it 😊
