Hi so I have previously posted before about using Bella or Jasmine but have now gone of both and we just really can not decide or agree I like such a mixed bag of names! Here are some ideas of different names I don’t mind but any opinions we would be so grateful 😊 my list are Adeline, Ava, Mia, Mylah, Eliza, Daisy, Elsie, Calista, Serena, Courtney, Halle, Matilda, Evelyn, gracelyn, Betsey, willow, liberty, Sadie I just seem to find faults with most names 🤷‍♀️ Last name is brown

Morgan

DinosaurDiana · 09/05/2021 20:40

I like Ava, Eliza, Evelyn and Betsy. Actually, Betsy is my favourite.

PearlHart · 09/05/2021 20:45

You can't have Ava with Brown - that was Adolf Hitler's wife (although spelt the German way, Eva Braun). I like Sadie best and Evelyn.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 09/05/2021 21:53

Because Brown is a popular one syllable surname, I'd personally choose a 3 or 4 syllable, less popular (but classical and elegant sounding) first name to pair with it. So I like Serena, Calista and Adeline best (in that order) - Serena Brown sounds lovely to me.

Polly271220 · 09/05/2021 21:57

Mia

babbaloushka · 09/05/2021 22:17

Love Sadie.

MyPanda · 09/05/2021 22:29

Elizabeth Brown (known as Betsy) gets my vote.

Moonlaserbearwolf · 09/05/2021 22:36

You’ve come up with some lovely names.

Agree with pp about choosing a less common, 3 syllable name to go with Brown. Love Calista, Liberty, Adeline and Serena.

Your names like Ava, Daisy, Mia etc are fine, but they are very popular at the moment and (in my opinion) are not particularly exciting with your surname.

miltonj · 09/05/2021 22:49

I like myla but not with a H

MooseMoose · 09/05/2021 22:53

I think Serena is lovely. Adeline would also go well. Ava is nice but pp is right about Ava Brown not being a great choice. Also like Matilda, Willow and Sadie, but not the others. It's quite a mixed bag, so some other suggestions:

Ivy
Iris
Lila
Layla
Ada
Selene / Selena
Esther
Elodie
Sylvia
Madeleine
Meera / Mira

partyatthepalace · 09/05/2021 23:01

Brown is a good surname - although as PP says the Eva Braun association should rule out Ava and Evelyn.

I think you need something fairly distinguished to offset the simple surname

Of your list Liberty is my favourite, or Serena. Matilda and Eliza also nice but more commonplace. Calista is a bit fussy, Adeline a bit heavy with Brown, Other thoughts - y endings go well - Felicity, Verity, Cecily, or otherwise Diana, Marianne, Claudia. I think a long name will generally work better.

I’d avoid faddy names like Mia, Mylah,Elsie, Courtney, Halle, gracelyn, Betsey, willow, and Sadie. Daisy Brown would make her sound like a cow.

Surroundedbytime · 09/05/2021 23:03

Liberty does go well with Brown.

Caijade · 09/05/2021 23:05

Thankyou so much everyone been really helpful glad I posted 😊

I'd narrow your list down to:
Eliza
Daisy
Elsie
Serena
Matilda

Any of these would be lovely, and I like them with Brown. My favourites are Eliza and Matilda.

bluechameleon · 09/05/2021 23:44

I like Eliza and Matilda best. I also like Evelyn and Serena. I don't like the more cutesy names like Betsey, Daisy or Elsie, and I don't like Gracelyn or Courtney at all.

Lalliella · 09/05/2021 23:51

2 of your names are my cats’ names OP! Great choices!

From your list I particularly like Serena and Adeline.

JemimaJoy · 10/05/2021 05:06

Betsy Brown

elliemara · 10/05/2021 05:11

Serena Brown sounds great!

Junipersky · 10/05/2021 07:55

Willow and Daisy?

I love all these names by the way.
Favourites would be Matilda and Adeline.

Rainbowqueeen · 10/05/2021 07:57

Matilda Daisy Brown would get my vote

TatianaBis · 10/05/2021 08:40

I’d take out the massively over-used ones like Ava and Mia; and the downmarket ones - Halle, Liberty, Courtney, Gracelyn.

Of the rest I really like Callista, Serena and Matilda (the latter is fairly popular). They all go well with Brown.

charlottelovesnames3 · 11/05/2021 16:23

I love Adeline Brown. It sounds so classy!

FeedMeSantiago · 11/05/2021 17:35

Agree with PPs re: avoiding Ava Brown due to Eva Braun.

I particularly like Calista, Serena and Matilda, with Serena my favourite. It has a nice elegant feel, is well known but not overused. Calista has a similar feel and Callie is a nice nickname. Matilda is lovely but quite popular so I would choose Serena.

Stevearnottsbeard · 11/05/2021 17:47

Out of your list, I like (in no particular order)
Evelyn
Sadie
Elsie
Eliz
Matilda
I like Betsy but more as a nickname.

My 11 year old who is sat with me likes
Willow
Daisy
Evelyn
Mia
Courtney
Matilda

JamCrackers · 11/05/2021 17:48

Sadie is lovely
