What names do you like but you have only ever met one of before?

My sister is pregnant for the first time at 43 and wants an unusual but real name and wants some inspiration.

I named my own after only once ever hearing someone called the name.

The chances of two girls in my small provincial town, completely unrelated to each other, and in the same year group, being named after Swans, seems infinitesimally incredible to me!

I've only ever met one Cora. She would be an elderly person now, haven't seen her for years, but it is a quite unusual and pretty name. She was Irish born of Irish parents though brought up in England; I think the name was less unusual in Ireland.

The Countess of Grantham in Downton Abbey was a Cora.

Apparently my gran was decades ahead of her time when she created this little mash up for my mother years before people made up names for their kids 😂.She hates it. People mispronounce it ALWAYS.

@Puffalicious Iola is also a welsh name, meaning valued by god. I know 2.

@Lou898 Eirlys means snowdrop in welsh, fairly well used in wales. You pronounce it with a rolled r though. eye-rrr-liss.
