I went to school with a Rea Bennett, lovely girl so lovely memories for me.

DinosaurDiana · 03/05/2021 16:48

I prefer Ria.

WorkWorkAngelica · 03/05/2021 16:52

I wouldn't be sure how to pronounce Rea. My first instinct is to say it Ree like pea, tea, sea etc but I'm assuming it's actually pronounced Ree-ah

Edenember · 03/05/2021 16:56

It flows fine. I’m not keen on the name as it reminds me of not so nice bodily things...urea, you can guess the other one - or Rear. But Rhea / Rea is a well known name so while not super common these associations obviously don’t bother a lot of people.

SoupDragon · 03/05/2021 16:58

It flows fine but, like a PP, I also prefer Ria

Twinkie01 · 03/05/2021 17:00

Girl at school called Ria was nick named Di 😬

EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 03/05/2021 17:01

So you’re thinking Rea for a girl or Dylan Andrew for a boy?

AfterSchoolWorry · 03/05/2021 17:03

How do you pronounce it, is it Ray or Ree?

It flows well.

My first thoughts too I'm afraid. How about Maria or Rhian?

@AfterSchoolWorry

How do you pronounce it, is it Ray or Ree?

It flows well.

I assumed Ree-ah (rhymes with Leah)

I've seen it spelt Rhea too

AmandaBennett · 03/05/2021 17:15

Yes, Rea is my choice of name for my daughter, Dylan for my son.

My daughter name rhymes with Rhea and her surname is Bennett. Sounds good to me!

Monkeytapper · 03/05/2021 17:17

How about Reeva?

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 03/05/2021 17:22

Are you pronouncing it as Ria? It looks a bit like a misspelling of Rae (Ray) to me, so I'm not sure. Welsh Nia is lovely and would work well with Dylan as a sibset.

Teeshirt · 03/05/2021 17:29

I like it, but isn’t it Rhea? The Greek goddess. Rea looks odd. Like tea and pea.

Beetlewing · 03/05/2021 20:41

I'd spell it Ria but at first I read Rae Bennett and that sounds lovely

BilboBercow · 03/05/2021 21:00

Rea is a perfectly normal spelling of the name. I know a woman with the same spelling. It's pronounced Ree-ah

Frazzled2207 · 03/05/2021 21:12

my first thought would be that it is pronounced to rhyme with Pea.
I know a Bea and Lea both of whom rhyme with Pea.
If it is to be pronounced ree-a then I'd spell Ria.

wheresmymojo · 03/05/2021 21:20

To be completely honest I don't like it.

Mainly because Rhea are a type of bird like ostriches and it makes me think of them.
