My friend is considering calling her baby Bram. He will be known as Bram but she's wondering if he should be Abraham on the birth certificate.
Bram is actually the mn of my baby who died. I'm really touched that she wants to use it so for disclosure, I'm on the side of the short version.
What do you think?

I would go with Abraham, gives options to the child. Eg Abe as another alternative

A friend of mine called her baby Abe, full name Abraham. But she found everywhere - school, doctors etc he called was Abraham, which she had never intended.

So if she wants him to be Bram, he needs to be Bram from the start.

I'd usually go for full name too, but I think that Bram and Abraham are just too different.
My Dd has a short first name, but a long middle name with many shortenings, so that could be something to consider?

Thank you all very much. Her dp has suggested that baby needs his own first name which I totally agree with so he'll have Bram as a mn.
I have 3 other rascals to keep me busy...and the good wishes of you lot so Im doing ok. ❤
