Tesni will get Tez-ni initially but Tess-ni is easy to learn.

I went to school with someone who had a name which was spelled like a particular name but pronounced like another. Think Sofia pronounced Sophie. Initially new teachers would call her 'Sofia' when they took the register the first time but they soon learned it was pronounced 'Sophie'. All the children managed it with no bother.

Tesni is easy enough for people to learn, I think. I'd say it was easier than my own name which most people get wrong initially but then learn once told.

A name like Alys, Mari, Elin, Mali, Sali, Lili, Nansi or Betsi is theoretically a bit more obvious if you wanted something people who aren't Welsh would be likely to get right first time.

Tesni is very pretty (and has a nice nn option in Tess if she wants it when older). Manon is nice enough (although I've heard it more in France than Wales). Not keen on Siriol personally - to an non Welsh speaker, it looks/sounds too much like a product name to me.

Is Tesni pronounced Tess-ni? If so I really like it.
I am Irish and haven't heard any of these names before.
How is Siriol pronounced?
If you live in Wales go for your favourite but if outside of Wales if one of them will be constantly mispronounced don't pick it.
My cousin in London is called Catríona, (Cat-ree-o-na said quickly) shortened to Tríona.
She pronounces her own name like Traynor, makes her Irish relatives wince a bit.
I think her Irish DM found it hard in the early days but she's an adult now so well used to it.
She would have been better off with a name she was able to pronounce correctly in her own accent.

Thanks everyone. I do still like Siriol and it has warm family connections but agree it’s hard. I have a name that people pronounce the ending as ‘een when is should be ‘ine and it used to drive me insane

Siriol is new to me but I think it’s lovely and Siri is v pretty for short. Full disclosure, I had a friend called Siri when I was at school and she was fab so I’m positively disposed towards it

Use it FrankieFarr, it's not particularly unusual, and it's a nice change from the usual names that appear on these threads, which are usually middle-aged, done to death or voguish and dreadful.

There's an actress and an artist with the name. I know 2, different age groups. I only know one Tesni and I wouldn't use it because of the 'school bus' nickname she had. I know several Manons, so it just seems ordinary.

If you are in an area like the one I live, there will be all sorts of names so nobody should struggle with it.

As someone with dual-culture children who picked what we thought of as (and actually are) very international names but has been astonished (and at times a little annoyed) again and again by the variations in pronunciation that can happen, I'd be inclined to go as 'international'/intercultural as possible and go with Manon.

Siriol Ela doesn't sound great but it might be ok with the surname.
I'd use a different middle name because the two Ls are too close.
