I think you just want to avoid the cliche single syllable

I disagree! I think that single syllable may be the was to go.
Are you pronouncing Rosalie with a hard S or soft?
Rozalee or Rose- alee?
If the letter then Maeve (pp) or Joy or Faye or Fern or Maud all work well.
I love Francesca but two 3-syllable names is quite a mouthful!
