Louisa Jane or Jane Louisa

I know Jane is a bit of a marmite name for many (plain Jane etc) but I really really don't feel that way. I adore Jane and Louisa for different reasons equally and can't decide which should go first... would appreciate any feedback Smile

Both nice. I prefer Jane Louisa, Jane is a bit of a filler middle name.

eatsleepbreastfeedrepeat · 14/04/2021 13:56

Louisa Jane flows better, but I adore Jane.

FeedMeSantiago · 14/04/2021 15:51

Louisa Jane for me but Jane Louisa is nice too.

Cindie943811A · 14/04/2021 16:20

Both nice but I think Louisa Jane flows better

VaVaGloom · 14/04/2021 16:26

Louisa Jane works best but middle names are so rarely spoken and prefer Jane as a beautiful classic name.

Tillygetsit · 14/04/2021 23:25

How strange. These were the proper names of my grandmothers. Both went by different names.
I love Louisa Jane.

Kanaloa · 15/04/2021 00:11

Louisa Jane is really pretty. Jane Louisa is nice as well but just not quite as nice.

OpusAnglicanum · 15/04/2021 07:16

Jane Louisa.

The other way round is just the usual boring pattern of long-name/one-syllable-filler-name, e.g., Olivia Rose, Isabella Grace, Amelia Mae, Yawnity Yawn.

Parkerwhereareyou · 15/04/2021 07:41

Louisa Jane

Jane Louisa. Jane is a much nicer name.

skeggycaggy · 15/04/2021 09:15

I agree that the flow of the names etc is pretty irrelevant, it’s about which you like best as a first name as that’s what she will actually be using throughout life.

Jane is more unusual than Louisa which appeals to me.

Yawnity Yawn is quite pretty. Unity Dawn?

Agree totally on the one-syllable middle name being boring.
Jane, Anne, Rose, Grace, May etc. Most of them are nice as a first name but dull as middle names.

Louisa Jane is lovely

Edenember · 15/04/2021 13:19

Louisa Jane. Louisa is lovely and a refreshing change from Eloise which seems to be trendy atm.

partyatthepalace · 18/04/2021 16:23

Like them both

Jane Louisa pips it for me

Yika · 18/04/2021 22:27

I like Jane better (they are both lovely) but would put it second since it flows better (but still call her Jane, not Louisa).

Gertie75 · 18/04/2021 22:32

Louisa Jane has a better flow but how often will they be said together?
Use whichever you prefer as her everyday name, Louisa will be shortened to Lou so depends whether you like Jane or Lou the most.

finallychangedmyusername · 18/04/2021 22:49

I adore Louisa but find the names Louisa and Jane together a little dated (80s/90s). For me they are almost too similar to one another if that makes any sort of sense? My suggestions as below - I'd pair Louisa with something short and quirky or Jane with something longer and more whimsical.

Louisa Wren
Louisa Tess
Louisa Dawn
Louisa Fleur

Jane Felicity
Jane Eloisa (for some reason I like this a lot more than Jane Louisa)
Jane Beatrix
Jane Seraphina
Jane Calliope
Jane Emilia

Of the two though, I prefer Louisa Jane to Jane Louisa.

Rockmehardplace · 18/04/2021 23:26

Louisa Jane is gorgeous!

MarleneH · 27/01/2024 16:55

Jane is very dated..

MarleneH · 27/01/2024 16:56

Jane is very dated. Please don’t tell me you have named your daughter Jane in 2021

HarryCohenPotter · 27/01/2024 17:27

I like Jane

Nicebloomers · 27/01/2024 19:01
