Too similar to dog's name?

Our dog's name is Albie, our current favourite girls name is Phoebe. Do these sound too similar?

Sorry to be blunt, but dogs don't live forever. The name is fine.

Not at all.

5foot418stone · 07/04/2021 16:01

It's totally fine!

My name is Kelly and my mum called our dog Ellie... now that's bad!

AsanteSanaSquashBanana · 07/04/2021 16:17

Thanks. Looks like it will be Phoebe then Smile

Daughter's cat is Albie but they call him Toots.

Just throwing that in to muddy the waters.

Phoebe is a lovely name by the way.

My DD is called Ella.
My MIL's cat is also called Ella.
Doesn't bother me or DH in the slightest. Little bit confusing for the cat though.

Piccalily19 · 08/04/2021 09:10

Growing up my parents adopted a dog called Gemma, my name is Emma so that got confusing!
But go for it :) I’ve always liked the name Pheobe

Bumblebee1980a · 11/04/2021 10:38

Thinking about it my DS and dogs name are similar. I'm always calling DS by the dogs name and vice versa .

SelkieBeag · 11/04/2021 10:42

I'd still use Phoebe, if you had a boy called Albie, I'd agree they're too similar but a dog is a dog.

SelkieBeag · 11/04/2021 10:43

Change the dog's name to Albini

Flymetothestars · 11/04/2021 11:11

Not too similar at all
Both lovely names though

May2021Mummy · 11/04/2021 11:34

I think they are both fab names and not to close at all

AsanteSanaSquashBanana · 11/04/2021 16:05

We have decided on Phoebe for a girl, although I'm 90% sure it will be a boy as DH's family only seem to produce boys!

Great choice OP. Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy
