Boys:

Reuben- Orignal favourite but the issue is I feel like I've heard it too much now.

Tristan- sometimes I love this and sometimes I'm not sure. Dh needs convincing.

Jonah- really like but DS has a J name so don't think I should use another. Also sounds less good with our surname.

Girls:

Thea - just been used by a family member. Would feel weird as that's her name now.

Elowen - I've seen a couple of comments about pronunciation on here and LOL not being a great sound (even though I used to like it). Also so many E names for girls right now.

Georgiana- I'm worried it's just a phase.

Nothing else sticks. Ideas?

Fwiw I love Elowen Smile

Flymetothestars · 27/03/2021 20:16

I agree Reuben and names of that ilk are overdone
I love Tristan though
How about Wilfred, Winston, Walter, Laurence, Peter, miles, Seth, Ellis, Austin?

BikeRunSki · 27/03/2021 20:17

B: Barnaby, Malachi, Evan
G: Elouise, Erica, Hannah

Chunkymenrock · 27/03/2021 20:19

Tristan is nice. I don't like any of your girls' names I'm afraid. Lowenna is 1000 times nicer than LON. How about that?

badg3r · 27/03/2021 20:20

What about robin or rowan?
For a girl Tessa, Aliya?

You seem to like the -in or -end sound at the end or is that just coincidence?

badg3r · 27/03/2021 20:21

Hmm my last bit didn't make sense... I meant that they all end on an -en or -a sound, are you stuck on them?

TheRoaringGirl · 27/03/2021 20:23

I love Tristan.

For girls, how about Merryn? This is so lovely and you sound like you're a fan of Cornish names

How about Rowan? For DD or DS.

Girls - Eloise, Arwen, Calista, Helena, Genevieve.

Boys - Rory, Elliot, Myles, Gabriel, Ivor, Ewan.

Those are all really different styles of names!

For boys, if you like Reuben and Tristan (both of which I think are lovely), how about other Biblical names like Isaac, Gabriel or Samuel, or maybe something like Michael which isn’t used very often these days? How about Sebastian, Dominic or Lucas?

For girls, how about Tessa, Cora, Eva (popular at the moment), Lara or Rosa if you like shorter names?

If you like Georgiana, how about Annabelle, Gabriella, Arabella, Felicity or Lucinda?

Really like Rueben and Jonah (not Tristan at all) how about Judah or Malachi?
Not keen on any of your girls names but would prefer Georgina, Dorothy, or maybe Esther

daisypond · 27/03/2021 21:52

They’re a mixed set of names, so hard to judge. How about:

Rupert
Miles
Guy

Louisa
Elise
Cara

partyatthepalace · 28/03/2021 10:12

Love Reuben but agree overdone, slightly prefer Tristram to Tristan.

Other thoughts - Lucas/Luke, Noah, Elijah (Eli), Patrick, Issac, Oscar, Max, Guy, Nathaniel nn Nat/Nate, Sebastian nn Seb or Bash, Christopher nn Kit,

Love Elowen. Georgiana is nice but she will likely end up being called George/Georgia/Georgie so depend how you feel about that - also two pronunciations - GEOR-gi-ARN-a or GEOR-JAY-na, which could get irritating. Thea I think is meh

Other thoughts - Stella / Estella, Adela, Robin, Ffion, Serena, Philippa nn Pippa, Frances, Lois, Claudia, Luella, Leonora, Clara

Ellmau · 28/03/2021 12:05

Rufus

Rosalind
Miranda

I like Reuben, but much prefer Rowan or even Rory for boys' 'R' names. Not keen on the other two. How about -

Aidan
Dylan
Euan / Ewan
Ioan
Joel
Seth
Sebastian (Seb)
Aaron

Girls:

Thea is lovely. How about - Thora, Thalia, Nia, Mia, Cora, Cara, Kiera / Ciara.

Elowen is nice, but find the pronunciation a bit clunky. How about Anwen, Arwen, Eloise Elodie, Elise, Eleanor. Or, on a similar tree theme, Sylvia / Sylvie, Willow, Rowan or Asha.

Georgiana - don't like. Prefer Josephine or Juliet or Violet in a similar vein.
