Frederick (Freddie) or Oscar?

Trying to decide and we keep going round in circles. Thoughts?

Freddie, Oscar has been really overdone lately.

Definitely Oscar. Freddie is SO common.

Freddie. I'm not keen on either of them.

Love Oscar, don’t much like Freddie

Frederick. Oscar is nice enough, but quite trendy - Frederick is a much more classic name (so far less likely to date and he can always go by Fred/Ed/Red/Freddie/Erik/Rick etc if it does - Oscar has less options).

Both very popular... I think Oscar slightly less so I’d go for that.

Not sure where you stay but in Scotland we have lists by council area of how common the name is. That’s swayed my decision a bit. Oscar is nice but I just know far too many of them to name my child it. Freddie is in my top 3 and I’m swaying towards it now. Christine lampard has just called her wee boy Freddie so that might make it more popular again

Oscar is popular as a dogs name. Freddie would sound silly on a 30 year old accountant, and Frederick rather stuffy.

Frederick, or even Wilfred - gives you more options. Oscar is ok, but not my favourite and there are no nicknames that I can think of.

We have Alfred, nickname Freddie, Fred and Ali

Not apropos of nothing 😂 just another Fred possibility as people have mentioned Wilfred and done Frederick down ( love Frederick personally).

Am totally biased but I much prefer Freddie to Oscar!

My Freddie is also an Alfred. I love it and it suits him perfectly.

Oscar by a long, long way, even though I don't particularly like it. Freddie/Frederick is horrid (sorry)

I don’t like Freddie at all, though Fred is OK. I prefer Oscar to that, but Oscar does seem rather dated. The Oscars I know are in their 20s. I like Frederick and Oscar as names, though.

I personally would choose Freddie.
