For a hypothetical second DD - I love Kim, but not keen on Kimberly. Are there any alternatives?

Why not just call her Kim? (I have a single-syllable name and really rate them)

Kimjongila
Kimberella

Not sure you’re on to a winner there OP Grin but Kim is a name in its own right, so just go with that.

mum2jakie · 12/03/2021 19:28

I have a cousin called Kim. Just Kim. Why does it need to be short for something?

Biscuitsneeded · 12/03/2021 19:29

Kim could work just on its own, but I had a great aunt called Kimmie because her initials were KIM - Kathleen Iverna Mary. Maybe you can find three names you like with those initials?

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 12/03/2021 19:30

Kimi
Kimiko

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 12/03/2021 19:31

Kimbalonz 🤪

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Seriously, there is a character called Kimball in the Netflix show designated Survivor - I thought it was a really cool name!

KirstenBlest · 12/03/2021 19:32

Because one day Kim will be a High Court Judge and needs a name that offers lots of potential for nn. Wink

I like it because it is simple. Kimberley is too frilly and seems dated.

Watch the surname and middle name though as it's a popular surname.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 12/03/2021 19:33

I used to work with a kimba, pronounced kimbar she was lovely

KirstenBlest · 12/03/2021 19:33

I too have a single syllable name. Never gets shortened. Some try to lengthen it though.

tootiredtospeak · 12/03/2021 19:34

My mum is called Kim Joan.... but the vicar made a mistake and christened her Kim Jon....honestly. I think it's a bit old fashioned but maybe that's because my Mum is 62. But ai do think it's just best on it's own if you go for it.

ShirleyPhallus · 12/03/2021 19:36

Kimberella! Is that a name?! I bloody love it! But wouldn’t call a child it, though....

partyatthepalace · 12/03/2021 19:40

Just Kim is fine. It’s a name.

BrutusMcDogface · 12/03/2021 19:41
