Names often skip a generation, so I was wondering what everyone's parents names are. It could be a vague look into the future...

Mine are Dan and Wendy
DH's are Nick and Michele

My parent's are Alan and Elizabeth. Dh's Alan and Kathleen. I prefer names from our generation so named my extremely young DC names more popular in the late 70's and early 80's

Barbara. My dad has a very obscure foreign name (even unusual though a real name in his home country) so a bit outing when combined with my mum (plus I live in a very MN area).

When I was at school our parents all had very similar names - mums were Sue, Nicola, Amanda or Wendy and dads were Steven, Dave, Michael or Derek. I think I had about 6 friends whose mums were called Sue!

Isn't everyone's dad called Dave or Chris?! Maybe a couple of outlying Rob, John, Andy or Mike

I remember my mum saying after she left uni nearly every wedding was a Sue to a Chris Grin

Nearly all her friends have names involving/sounds like Lyn/Linda or are Sue or Liz.

I think names in later generations tend to have a lot more variety

Drunkenmonkey · 11/03/2021 12:36

Sylvia and Michael.
I love the name Sylvia, I think my grandma chose so well as it's not too common in that age group (60's) and has a beautiful sound and meaning. If I have a DD she will have it as a middle name for sure.
All her friends are called Lynn or Sue, today's Evie and Isabelle maybe?

Drunkenmonkey · 11/03/2021 12:38

To the people saying the mums are called Nicola, stop it you're making me feel old. Nicola was a 70's/80's name!
