We’ve narrowed down our baby girl names to the following 4.. which names do you prefer?
Open to suggestions for similar sounding names! We seem to like names ending in O or A!

Margo
Alma
Nora
Stella

Margo, although I think it’s spelt Margot?

Nora and Alma sound really old fashioned (Nora Batty).

Other names:
Cora
Zara
Eva
Tara
Maria
Lara
Maya
Rowena

Whatsyourflava · 07/03/2021 08:21

Love Margot

ArosAdraDrosDolig · 07/03/2021 08:23

I like Nora best and there are quite a few little Noras. I’m not a Margot fan (spelt without the t she will face a lifetime of misspelling). I can’t get past Margot on The Good Life!

ArosAdraDrosDolig · 07/03/2021 08:24

Flora
Martha
Clara
Cleo

Sarcobaleno · 07/03/2021 08:26

Love all your names though agree Margot should have a T.

Cora?
Cara?
Martha?
Freya?
Lara?

17caterpillars1mouse · 07/03/2021 08:27

Orla
Oona
Petra
Iona
Arabella

I really like Alma

Sarcobaleno · 07/03/2021 08:28

Una rather than Oona?

Squeakerfoot · 07/03/2021 08:43

Love Margo/Margot.
Cleo and Clea are nice.
Juno?

IndiaMay · 07/03/2021 08:48

Tessa
Ira
Zelda
Jemima

Louisa

Ginandplatonic · 07/03/2021 08:57

I like Margo and don’t mind it spelled that way although I don’t normally like alternative spellings.

Sylvie
Thea
Lydia
Cecily
Francesca

Macblondie · 07/03/2021 08:59

I like Margo the best out of your list. Smile

Spied · 07/03/2021 09:01

Stella is the only one I like out of the list.
I also like Sadie which is a similar vibe ( not 'o' or 'a' ending I know)

Quercus3 · 07/03/2021 09:08

I love Stella, wonderful name. Alma is lovely too 🙂

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/03/2021 09:10

Not Alma. And agree Margot with the t.

Flora
Dora
Zara
Lara

Nell96 · 07/03/2021 09:17

Margo - not a fan, quite horsey
Alma - maybe, though reminds me of coronation street character
Nora - love, especially spelt Norah
Stella - it's ok, lager does spring to mind though

How about -

Nia
Neneh
Nala
Cara
Sylvia
Frida
Ada
Mira
Vera
Seren (Welsh for star)

FASDE1517 · 07/03/2021 09:40

Love Margot and Norah but not sure on your spellings

Mackie2020 · 07/03/2021 09:41

I love Alma

partyatthepalace · 07/03/2021 10:13

Love Stella and Margot - would go for Stella because Margot v popular right now. Can’t stand Alma and Nora.

To me Stella and Margot are sophisticated mid century - the Arne Jacobsen of names; whereas Alma and Nora/h are downtrodden 1950s barmaids.

Other thoughts - Lois, Oona, Cleo, Juno, Zelda, Cora, Greta, Carla, Hero, Lena

As PP I would add the t to Margot or it will be a lifetime of misspelling.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/03/2021 13:09

Rosa
Flora.
Maura
Lucia
Elsa
Tessa.

TempsPerdu · 07/03/2021 13:15

Margo is OK but I prefer the Margot spelling. Don’t like the others.

Vera (not keen on this either but it feels similar!)
Cora
Greta
Vita
Sylvia
Alba
Frieda/Frida
Cleo
Olive
Edith
Audrey
Pearl

LilyRose202 · 07/03/2021 14:28

We like names ending in 'a' or 'o' too.

Luna
Isabella
Lena
Ember (different ending but it's unusual)

For a boy: Arlo

Quick question though... How would you pronounce Lena?
L-ee-na or Ley-na?

Thanks. Xx

mamawithfive · 07/03/2021 14:38

Like Nora best from your list.

KirstenBlest · 07/03/2021 14:38

Margo - the spelling is fine but Margot more popular
Alma - fine
Nora - I'd spell it Norah. Flamin' Nora and all that
Stella - fine but I'm not keen on Stel.

Stella is the only one I'd consider but i don't love it.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 07/03/2021 21:39

Stella is gorgeous and fairly underused imo. Alma, Margo and Nora don't sound as nice to me, and seem slightly old fashioned (although I know Margo/Margot is now very trendy). I like similar style Cora and Fred though.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 07/03/2021 21:40

Freda not Fred!
