Hey all! Found out I was having a third baby girl today which I am thrilled about. We already have an Adelie & Felicie. As you can tell we love the 'ee' ending names and would like for our other baby girl to have an ending of ee. Some we love are:

Daphne
Penelope
Cecily
Celie
Dolcie

Please leave your favourite below and comment any you think we may love!

From your list I like Cecily and Daphne, the others are not my taste but nothing wrong with them.
Some other suggestions you might like that go with your first two: Elodie, Lorelie, Romilly, Sophie, Xanthe

I really like Cecily.

Daphne and Penelope are nice too - I prefer Penelope by a little bit.

Not so keen on Celie and Dolcie.

DramaAlpaca · 07/03/2021 03:03

I'd choose one from Daphne, Penelope or Cecily. Not the other two.

I like Penelope and Cecily best.

I love Daphne, but not keen on the others. I like Phoebe, Ariadne, Sylvie, Rosalie...

Synchrony · 07/03/2021 08:00

I like Celie best with the others. I have never met anyone called Celie. It reminds me of The Color Purple.

Standrewsschool · 07/03/2021 08:16

Lovely list.

Other names-
Dulcie
Marnie
Maisie
Lucy
Lorelie
Bryony

You have a nice and usual list.

Other ideas:
Leonie
Elodie
Noemie
Zélie

Cecily is my favourite of your list - beautiful, sophisticated and underused I think.
Nothing wrong with Daphne or Penelope, although latter will get shortened, so if you don’t like Penny you will have to try and impose Nell - or maybe Effie?

Dolcie and Celie are nns so I wouldn’t use on birth cert. You could use Celie as a nn for Cecily if you wanted, or Dolcie as a nn for Dorothy.

If you like making a different version of a name by adding ie - you could try Christophie Otherwise Alecky is a short form of Alexandra you could use, or Rosalie, Emilie (the French spelling of Emilie), Chloe, Phoebe, Zoe

GeorgeandHarold66 · 07/03/2021 10:42

I think Cecile or Dolcie go best with the other two names 😊

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/03/2021 13:40

Cecily is gorgeous.

Larryslockdownlunch · 07/03/2021 14:01

Daphne 100%

AfterEightsBeforeEight · 07/03/2021 14:23

Adelie, Felicie and Cecily really jar when you read it out loud. I think the first two names are quite a mouthful to say together, already, so I'd pick something without a "lee" sound in it.

I'd also avoid things like Elodie because they end up all sounding like they've got incredibly similar names. I saw somewhere on FB something like a "Kaylee, Tayvee, and Jaydee" and I think you should try and avoid this...unless that's the level of similarity you are actively going for.

Jessie? Katy? Suzie? I know they're not as pretty and frilly as the two names you have already, but I wonder if you go for a third equally as frilly, you'll end up with the "Huey, Dooey and Louis" effect.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 07/03/2021 22:40

Of your choices Cecily is very nice but it might be too soundalike with Adelie. I'm not keen on the rest of your list though.

I like the suggestions of Verity, Elodie, Leonie, Bryony or Xanthe. Or what about Sylvie or Ianthe?

Firebird83 · 08/03/2021 00:35

Cecilie spelled this way to go with Adelie and Felicie
