Girls names, 2 on short list

I love the name Phyllis, DH prefers Beatrice. We have narrowed it down to those 2 but just can’t make a final decision! Help!

Beatrice. Can be shortened to Bea, or Trixie! Phyllis is TOO old-fashioned.

Beatrice she will want to shorten it at some point and there will be more options.
Phyllis is old fashioned in the wrong way for me.

Beatrice - much more classic, thanks to Dante and Shakespeare. Phyllis has a slightly dated/old-fashioned image unfortunately (but the pretty but rare Phyllida doesn't, to throw another name in the works?)

Oh I like Phyllis very old lady chic :) plus she could have the nn Pip which I love on a young girl.

Beatrice is OK, I prefer Beatrix as it has more spark, but I really do like Phyllis (from somebody who gave her daughter a very marmite name also)

I like Phyllis, give it a year or two and you will find you are ahead of the curve. Beatrice not so much but do like Beatrix

Think of the nn’s if you’re stuck between the two. Do you like Bea? Trixie? Phil? Pip? Liss?

Definitely Beatrice! But then I'm biased as we have a 10 month old Bea Smile
Although not very traditional I also like Betty as a nickname - and there's loads for her to choose from when she's older.

Beatrice 100% Bea is a nice nn also.

Phyllis is just old fashioned and dusty/sad. Phyllida is OK, and Philippa is lovely, also a nice nn in Pippa
