I would assume that Tomasin was a boy because of the Tomas bit. I've not heard of Tamasin but i think that if you're in England, people will assume it's a typo of Tamsin

I know a Thomasin, she’s a nice woman, great at her job, so I have good associations with it, but I do like it as a name.
