Just that really. Would like feedback (not bothered about it being a wintry name re month she'll be born etc) and am open to any suggestions of similar sounding names preferably with 2 syllables ending -elle.

Noelie is also nice.

rejectedprincess · 25/02/2021 08:35

Ooh I love it! I also lobbied for it, for a December baby, was vetoed by my DH. I imagine this incredible beautiful and uber cool ice blonde girl when I think of Noelle. I think it's very glamorous.

AnitaHotdog · 25/02/2021 08:41

My mum is a Noelle and is exactly as you describe rejectedprincess! V close to Christmas baby. She likes her name and doesn't mind when people stumble over it and inevitably call her Noel.. my DGM used to call her Nolly as she couldn't say it Smile

Lizadork · 25/02/2021 08:56

I love Noel and Noelle. I love Nova too.

kylie122 · 25/02/2021 09:18

I was thinking about this name the other day I like it

lottiegarbanzo · 25/02/2021 09:21

I like it. Makes me think of Noelle Streatfield, author of Ballet Shoes.

Most names I can think of ending with -lle have more than two syllables. Maybe Joelle (I love Joely, though not sure how to spell it), or how about Adele? Estelle, Carole, Nicole, Sybelle, Yael.

She might get fed-up with people assuming she was born at Christmas, but having said that, it's a pretty name, far nicer than names such as Harper or Luna, which seem very popular. I believe the actress Noele Gordon (who was born on Christmas Day) was called Nolly by friends. If you love the name Noelle, then that's the one I would choose.

Ellmau · 25/02/2021 10:44

Joelle
Gaelle
Isabelle
Gabrielle
Danielle
Adele - the athlete Adelle Tracey spells it with two ls although one is more usual
(I once saw Sybelle in a book, and thought it was pretty, but it might look like a mistake for Sybille.)

Luckyelephant1 · 25/02/2021 17:27

I really like it and personally wouldn't associate it with Christmas. Its a feminine classy sounding name. Joelle is a pretty alternative too although I don't like the nickname Jo.

ILoveShula · 25/02/2021 18:35

@lottiegarbanzo, she was (Mary) Noel Streatfield.

Firebird83 · 25/02/2021 18:55

It’s lovely

Foxhasbigsocks · 25/02/2021 18:56

Love it but only for a baby born late December

Carouselfish · 25/02/2021 19:06

Love it. I also like Joelle but had to teach a very unpleasant teen with a very similar name so put me off.

Names that have a similar feel to me...

Lucille
Coralie
Lorelei
Leona

Elle endings...

Aurelle
Mirelle
Axelle
Christelle

tuttifuckinfruity · 25/02/2021 19:24

It's probably the only -Elle ending name I like. I find the -Elle part quite girly (not surprisingly) so I like the no frills "No" part of it.

I also quite like the Wheatus song.

I also love the Christmas carol, one of my faves. So it would be lovely for a December baby but appreciate that's not your intention.

Careybeary · 25/02/2021 19:25

Beautiful name! Love it!

Twelve8Ts · 25/02/2021 19:46

Always loved this name! I think it’s so pretty

frozenita · 25/02/2021 19:47

I think Noelle is really lovely! I can imagine a super cute little girl Noelle ☺️

ColonelPine · 25/02/2021 19:48

I like it. Sounds French. She’ll have to spell it out all the time.

AdventuresAwait · 25/02/2021 19:49

I love it!

nevertrustaherdofcows · 25/02/2021 19:49

You're all too young to remember Crossroads Motel, aren't you?

ProseccoForever · 25/02/2021 19:55

Noelle..... hmmmmmm. Will it be 'The First?'
In your family? Grin

Odile13 · 25/02/2021 20:00

I like it. It’s a pretty name.

annieannietomjoe · 25/02/2021 20:03

Lovely

lemorella · 25/02/2021 20:09

It's beautiful

RoomAtTheEndOfTheWorld · 25/02/2021 20:10

I like it, but prefer Noella. However for me personally I could only use it for a December baby!
