Can I have some opinions on these boys names

We have three names that we can’t decide between for our DS!

Thomas (probably Tommy when he is little)
Elliott
Nathaniel (we should shorten this to Nate)

Middle name will be George and our surname is pretty standard. Opinions, good and bad, welcome on the above Smile

Out of those my favourite Is Thomas and I think Thomas George has a nice ring to it

Good luck

galaxy9 · 16/02/2021 09:30

I like Elliott and Nate (not Nathanial) the best

itssquidstella · 16/02/2021 09:33

I like Thomas and Nathaniel; not keen on Elliott.

Muskox · 16/02/2021 09:35

Elliott is my favourite, but be aware it will cause spelling issues (Eliot / Elliot / Elliott).

Whatsyourflava · 16/02/2021 09:36

Amazing names!!
I think Nathaniel nickname Nate is a bit different

Whatsyourflava · 16/02/2021 09:37

Sorry incase I wasn't clear, I like all 3 names my favourite is probably Nathaniel

emmathedilemma · 16/02/2021 10:03

I like them in the order you've written them with Thomas the most.

Bluesername · 16/02/2021 10:08

I like Thomas George and Nathaniel George, but not keen on Nate as nickname.

inmyslippers · 16/02/2021 10:10

Every Nathan I've met has been lovely, so Nathaniel comes up top for me.

Kollamoolitumarellipawkyrollo · 16/02/2021 10:10

I like all. Thomas the most but dislike Tommy! Tommy is my least favourite and Thomas/Tom my most.

TheVanguardSix · 16/02/2021 10:14

Elliott is my favourite, though I prefer it spelled with one T. Don't know why.

justlonelystars · 16/02/2021 11:38

Thanks everyone. I think I am leaning more towards Nathaniel. Such a difficult choice!

Thomas (probably Tommy when he is little) - great.
Elliott - ok but sounds slightly feeble
Nathaniel (we should shorten this to Nate) - ok but I'm not keen on Nate and Nathaniel is too long

finallychangedmyusername · 16/02/2021 12:30

I adore all three! Of the three, Nathaniel is probably the most uncommon (if that matters to you). Also if you have a very standard surname you may find that there is more than one Thomas Yoursurname. Elliott may have spelling issues (Elliot/Elliott). But I really love Thomas, Elliott and Nathaniel.

Thesearmsofmine · 16/02/2021 12:33

I like all 3. I would probably go for Nathaniel because I love Nate as a nn.

Spidey66 · 16/02/2021 12:36

I like all of them. In order Thomas (my dad's name so always a favourite with me), followed by Nathaniel/Nate and then Elliott.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 16/02/2021 16:02

Nathaniel is gorgeous! A perfect middle ground between Thomas (very classic/timeless but also very popular) and Elliot (nice but more contemporary/trendy and thus may date).

Nathaniel is classic, well -known and used but not overly popular/trendy (so feels more timeless). It also has more nn options if he wants them - obviously Nate or retro Niel, but I personally like Han (Star Wars cool!)

AnotherGuest · 16/02/2021 16:03

Nathaniel is lovely.

ILoveStickers · 16/02/2021 16:19

I'd go for Nathaniel.

Elliott George sounds like a tribute to George Eliot - which is fine if that's what you're after!

BallsToYouSue · 16/02/2021 16:28

I like Thomas and Nathaniel. But I prefer Tom / Tommy to Nat. Can't think of any other obvious shortenings for Nathaniel.

I'm not keen on Elliott but there's nothing wrong with it. They're all nice, classic names. Can't go wrong really Smile

Sojo88 · 16/02/2021 16:30

I like all those names. My favourite would be Thomas if it stayed as Thomas (no nickname). Otherwise I prefer Elliot, but love Nate/Nathaniel too.

partyatthepalace · 16/02/2021 20:46

Nathaniel cos it’s lovely and underused.

I do all like Thomas

Don’t like Elliot

kindlekeeper · 16/02/2021 20:53

Thomas

MeBingandBong · 16/02/2021 21:30

Love the name Eilliot its was on my boy names list when I was pregnant. But partners Cousin is called Elliot so we went with something else. Nathan was on my list until my DDs teacher turned out to be a Nathan. Nathaniel is lovely Nate I LOVE!

Onlinedilema · 16/02/2021 22:35

Nathaniel wins it for me.
