Dexter or Stanley?

I'd be grateful for any opinions 😊. Thanks

Stanley definately! I know a Stanley who is about 8 now, baby Stan was the cutest!!! Also know a dexter but to me, Stanley just had the edge!

Whatsyourflava · 02/02/2021 09:26

Both lovely names
I'd probably pick Stanley

How about Sidney for a name that's lower in charts

Firebird83 · 02/02/2021 10:27

Stanley but I don’t like either

RuthW · 02/02/2021 12:20

Stanley

Spied · 02/02/2021 12:41

Dexter
I always think of Stanley being the name of a huge bore.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 02/02/2021 12:51

I prefer Stanley to Dexter... it’s only as old fashioned as Arthur, Archie, Albie et al which are all very popular.

Sidney, as mentioned above is also nice, similar feel.

IslaHockings · 02/02/2021 14:50

Definitely Stanley!

Mummytobe05 · 02/02/2021 17:46

Thanks everyone looks like Stanley is the favourite I still can't decide but I have 4 months to ponder it

Stanley is lovely

DuaLipaSuction · 02/02/2021 19:39

Stanley, then you don't think of psychopaths every time you hear the name.

35andThriving · 03/02/2021 12:01

Stanley is lovely.

Winterpaw · 03/02/2021 12:05

Stanley, no contest. Dexter is awful.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 03/02/2021 14:14

@Mummytobe05 love them both but Stanley is my absolute favourite name!! We were 💯 going with that if we were having a boy! X

AnxiousAnnie86 · 03/02/2021 14:15

Also I lm watching dexter now and it wouldn't put me off!!

May2021Mummy · 03/02/2021 16:35

@AnxiousAnnie86 thank you I'm still none the wiser 💙

viques · 03/02/2021 16:38

I used to teach a Stanley in a nursery class. I don’t know why, but the other children couldn’t cope with the Stan bit so they all called him Stamley. He was very cute.

bridgetreilly · 03/02/2021 17:03

Stanley by a mile. And I don't even like Stanley all that much.

YoniAndGuy · 03/02/2021 17:22

Oh dear that's a humdinger of a pair. Stanley, only because Dexter really is unpleasant. Stanley is just a bit clunky.

Ithinkhedidit · 03/02/2021 17:23

I really like Dexter! I suggested it for ds2 but dh wasn't a fan.

May2021Mummy · 04/02/2021 08:29

@Ithinkhedidit I have more names I like but my OH has said no to all but these two 🙄

abc31 · 04/02/2021 08:32

I'm not a fan of Dexter so Stanley is marginally better. But I dislike Stan so that would rule it out for me (flashback to Eminem song)

DalryPlace · 04/02/2021 20:06

Dislike Dexter. Prefer Stanley but even better for the same type of name Sidney.
