What does everyone think of Noah? I really like it but I worry that it’s way to common

I like it too!! Very biblical however seems quite modern too!! X

Schoolhouse123 · 18/01/2021 10:28

It was on my shortlist dc1 16 knows a few noahs but my younger dc don't know any.
One of my dc has a top 10 name and in a year group of 300 has no one else with the same name. However her 3 best friends all have the same name which is not very common - you just never know so I'd go with what you like.

FluffyEggsontoast · 18/01/2021 10:29

I really really like it
It's number 3 in the charts so is quite popular so it's not going to be a shock if you bump into a couple of other Noah's at baby groups. Just depends what you think about that.
But you could bump into others if you pick another name. To anyone bothered about dramatically reducing their chances of bumping into other babies of the same name, I'd suggest looking outside the top 200 names.

amy2021 · 18/01/2021 10:35

Obviously biased as it's my sons name but I love it!

MercyBodle · 18/01/2021 10:46

I'm not keen.

emmie841 · 18/01/2021 11:06

Beautiful name, strong and handsome I love it x

Sheleg · 18/01/2021 11:11

Dreadful! So weak and "bleh". Like a lame exhalation of breath.

bumblingalonghappily · 18/01/2021 11:19

I'm not keen either I'm afraid. I had a brief moment of thinking I liked it when pregnant with DC1 but then began to realise how much I had been subconsciously influenced to 'like' a lot of the trendy names at the moment (like the trend for granny names for girls at the moment). In my opinion if. A name shoots up in popularity like Noah then it's a sure sign that it's likely to date very very badly. I much prefer classic names for this reason.

But if you like it then use it! It's certainly not a horrible name, which is why I considered it in the first place.

VenusClapTrap · 18/01/2021 13:45

Really dislike it. Too much of a worthy, Sunday school teacher, Volvo driving name.

cptartapp · 18/01/2021 13:55

My most hated boys name.
Sounds like a strained protest!

KirstenBlest · 18/01/2021 14:00

No. Ah.

CoffeeCheeseandCupcakes · 18/01/2021 14:02

Was my favourite name when I was pregnant, but was always worried if was getting too popular so didn't go for it. I do love it though

grey12 · 18/01/2021 14:07

Don't think it's that common actually.

If I didn't have 3 DDs I might have had a Noah Grin

KirstenBlest · 18/01/2021 14:12

It was the 3rd most popular baby boy's name in the uk in 2020.

3JsMa · 18/01/2021 14:17

Beautiful name,,cute enough and sounds great at all ages, whether it's a baby, teenager or grown-up man.

passthemustard · 18/01/2021 14:20

My DS is Noah. It was quite unusual in 2005.....

Phoebesgift · 18/01/2021 14:26

It's drippy and boring. I know 4 Noah's under the age of 2.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 18/01/2021 17:48

It's far too trendy for me and will date badly I think - Noah was a pretty uncommon name 25/30 years ago. It's shame, because it has a nice sound - what about the similar, but much less popular Asa?

Sexnotgender · 18/01/2021 17:50

I’m not keen. And it’s super popular.

I was at a baby group last year. 4 of us sitting together. My son and 3 boys called Noah😂 one of the mums seemed a bit sad, she said she’d picked it as it was unique.

partyatthepalace · 18/01/2021 23:11

It’s nice enough.

If you want something less common then Jonah, Josiah, Jeremiah, Elisha

Or Joshua and Elijah less popular than they used to be.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 18/01/2021 23:27

Hmmm don’t like it at all & I have a nephew with this wishy washy name , other nephews have great names .

DramaAlpaca · 18/01/2021 23:37

Far too popular and so whiney and whingey sounding. Probably my least favourite boys' name ever.
