Ophelia is a beautiful name but too much teasing potential, so no. Effie is awful! Sounds like effing. Or F.E.

I love Effie and had it on my short list, but couldn't use it as didn't go with our middle name (DH's sister's name)

What did you end up going for? I just gave birth to an Ophelia ( with the pronunciation Eh- fee-lee-a) and her nickname I'll use will be Effie. When i announced her name, my post was flooded with comments on how beautiful her name is. Any name has the potential to be made fun of, including names like Jack which is one of the most common. If you love something go for it, Just for anyone looking at this post in the future ❤️
