Thoughts on Hallie Rose?

Hello all! Trying to find a girl’s name that DH and I agree on is really tough... we’ve both got names we love but the other doesn’t 😭

We both like Hallie and I really like Rose as a middle name (DH is less keen but I think could be persuaded) - thoughts?

I don’t know whether I actually want it or if I’m just latching into it as DH has vetoed my favourite names and vice versa...

@TheWashingMachine

How about Harriet Rose, it's a bit more elegant

I don't think Harriet is elegant at all! I think its such a clumpy name. Always think of big foot when people suggest the name Harriet.

Hallie is lovely...Rose is hideous

I like Hallie. Rose is nice too but it depends if you're going to use it as a name together as in "Hallie Rose" on a day to day basis or if she'd just be called Hallie. I personally think that any two girls names together reminds me of the hill billies in American films.

@miserableannie hideous? That’s a little strong.

I like Rose and would make that the first name. Hallie, I assume, is a variation on the celebrity name Halle, which has become popular in recent years. I don't particularly like it. Keep searching for a name that you love that he may agree to.

Hallie-Rose is beautiful but I'm very biased as I'm cuddling my Hazel-Rose whilst mumsnetting Brew

I really like Hallie. And I would spell it like you have. I also like Callie.

Yes, Rose is quite a common middle name, but it’s really pretty and goes well with Hallie, so why not.

Rose as a middle name is eyerollingly dull. My own daughter has it and I regret it SO much. There are so many beautiful names. Hallin is ok but doesn't sound like a real name.

Not keen on Hallie. Sally is nicer.
Rose is nice but very uninspired as a middle name.

I think hallie or Halle is an angel in the bible so it is a real name

It's ok, a bit blah but nice enough.

The worst thing is with the trend for unusual unique names these days you can never quite be sure. Grin

I love Hallie but Rose is a bit overdone in my opinion! That being said it’s only a middle spot and inoffensive, so if you love it you should use it!

Rose is just boring, so overused as a middle name. Every girl has it along with Grace and May. It’s the Louise of the 80s.

Like Hallie though.

It just sounds made up to me - I know it’s supposed to have various origins but it just sounds like a vague nn, and is a bit downmarket.

Rose is lovely but v popular as a middle name if that bothers you.

I would use Rose as a first name or think again.
