Love Josephine. Sounds lovely and as others have mentioned, Jo/Josie for short is just as nice. Juniper is also a nice name but it's a bit more try hard in my opinion and I'm not a big fan of Juni.

Brighterthansunflowers · 14/01/2021 19:14

Josephine

rc22 · 14/01/2021 19:31

I love Josephine. It's a beautiful name.

MaryLisbon · 14/01/2021 19:35

I like both. Love Juniper/Juni/Juno.
Josephine is great. I like the "phine" sound. I also like Delphine

PrivateParty · 14/01/2021 20:00

Josephine. Didn't know juniper was a name..

CeibaTree · 14/01/2021 20:17

Juniper is much nicer than Josephine. Josephine would just be shortened to Jo, one of the most boring 80s names out there! Juno is a great nickname for Juniper.

PattyPan · 14/01/2021 20:22

I love both of them but Josephine probably slightly more - agree it is more classic and has better nn opportunities.

MrsFluffyMuff · 14/01/2021 20:23

Josephine!

DramaAlpaca · 14/01/2021 20:38

Another vote for Josephine.

Bluesername · 14/01/2021 20:44

Josephine. Juniper is OK but the 'nipper' sound puts me off.

sqirrelfriends · 14/01/2021 20:47

Juniper is just lovely.

NoMoreFlowers · 14/01/2021 20:48

I think Juniper is really really dreadful. Possibly suitable for a pet

helloyoumums · 14/01/2021 20:51

Definitely Josephine. Much prettier, and a classic name . Much prettier nicknames too- jo, Josie, effie, sephy

Firebird83 · 14/01/2021 21:13

Definitely Josephine. Don’t like the nip/nipper sound in Juniper.

CassandrasCastle · 15/01/2021 08:06

Juniper is amazing

Isisiris · 15/01/2021 08:14

I dont like boys names to girl names names so dont like Josephine. I dont like the nickname jo either. Such a popular shortening for Joseph or Joanne or other myriad of 'jo' names.
I also love juniper as a name
So I'm with you OP.

daisypond · 15/01/2021 08:17

Josephine.

Toffeefee23 · 15/01/2021 08:18

Josephine, classic, lovely, lots of options for nicknames.

Juniper is a bit hipster & more likely to spike in popularity then start to sound very dated.

BrokenLink · 15/01/2021 08:44

I prefer Josephine. I have a feeling Juniper will become very dated.

motherofawhirlwind · 15/01/2021 08:47

Juniper no question. I'd probably use Pip as a nn, but also like Juno and June, Juni.

Divebar · 15/01/2021 08:53

Juniper for me too.... I don’t know any. I know one Juno which you might imagine is a hipster / trendy name. If it had been up against Delphine as mentioned above I would have chosen that though.

PoodleMoth · 15/01/2021 12:26

Really like Juniper but really dislike Josephine, can't put my finger on why!

M0rT · 15/01/2021 12:32

I like them both but would choose Juniper of the two.
I know a lovely Josie, but I also always hear Grossie Josie from that film when I hear the name.

Standrewsschool · 15/01/2021 12:32

Two different type of names. Juniper is floral-y, and more unusual. Josephine is more classic, and is probably due a comeback.
