Iris v Alice

Struggling to decide between these two names. Would love to know which you prefer thanks x

I quite like both but would go with Iris as it's quirkier and is wearable throughout life!
Irisa was on my list for a while

I like both but I’d go with Alice. Can’t go wrong either way though.

I like both but would probably prefer Alice

Alice is nice and much more classic/traditional (steadily used) than Iris - so Alice is definitely the "safer" choice.

But I have a real soft spot for Iris so would pick that myself I think! I love the fact Iris is both a nature name (floral) but also a classical name (Greek Goddess).

Love both but I think Alice just takes it for me. Iris seems to be very of the moment, which means at some point it’s not going to be and will be tied to a particular time like many names in the vintagey/ old lady revival. However I still love it (both are on my list). Alice is more classic test of time but underused these days.

This is exactly what came here to say. Both lovely names, but the classic nature of Alice appeals more to me.

Iris - it's got a bit more punch to it :)

Lovely names but I would choose Alice simply because I feel that Iris might not run of the tongue so easily and there are always people who get names wrong so might end up as Irene. Basically it’s because the A sound is perhaps softer or this might just be me.

An Alice I know changed the spelling of her name to Alis. Could be a compromise of both names if you can’t decide.

Alice. Classic. Never out of fashion.

Iris! It’s such a beautiful name and slightly less common than Alice.
