Enoch? For a boy. And any ideas on nn?? Maybe nokki?
Our other kids have christian type names or meanings, but we still like semi unusual, not popular names.
I like josiah, dh doesn't. We also like Axel which means father is peace.
Have no girls names either so help is needed. I like nina. And that is it. Argh it's so hard!!!

How about Saul if you want a Biblical name?

bestsquirrelinthewholehole · 03/01/2021 18:30

I like the name Enoch, but it is strongly linked to a politician.

I'm not keen on the use of Old Testament names, so I suggest a New Testament one, Timothy.

bestsquirrelinthewholehole · 03/01/2021 18:44

Timothy is too classic, just doesn't fit with our other names. It would be too outing to say.

Titus

EdgeOfACoin · 03/01/2021 19:02

Asher
Micah
Jonah
Ezra
Elijah
Isaiah
Ezekiel
Simeon
Reuben
Amos
Jeremiah
Barnabus
Caleb
Gideon
Jesse

All Old Testament names except Barnabus which is New Testament.

NeonSparkle · 03/01/2021 19:26

You might as well call him Adolf and be done with it! Please don’t lumber your child with a name with such racist connotations!

BikeRunSki · 03/01/2021 19:34

Done if the more unusual Old Testsment names I’ve come across, on actual people.

Eliezer
Zebulon
Malachi
Absolom
Solomon
Abraham
Esau
Lazarus
Moredecai

bestsquirrelinthewholehole · 03/01/2021 19:46

Please don't anyone call me racist, I really had no idea who Enoch Powell was, it was 1968 for goodness sake and I was not even a twinkle in my parents eyes then! I have a child who is duel heritage so definitely don't want that kind of connotation. It was just a name we liked. From the bible.

Good job I asked on here and not in real life, as I wouldn't the poor kid to be and us to be spoken about negatively. Still have 5 months to go. But this is exactly why naming your child is sooo blooming difficult. Let's hope for a girl!! 😂😂😂

JiltedJohnsJulie · 03/01/2021 20:47

How about Josiah?

hollyandkit · 03/01/2021 20:55

Love Caleb and Malachi. Shame Judas was a wrong 'un because I quite like that too!

bestsquirrelinthewholehole · 03/01/2021 20:58

bestsquirrelinthewholehole · 03/01/2021 20:59

Is DH coming up with suggestions of his own? My DH was very good at Vetoing names but never really very good at coming up with his own suggestions.

RebeccaNoodles · 03/01/2021 21:09

Isaac?

RebeccaNoodles · 03/01/2021 21:11

It means 'he laughed' which is nice I think!

bestsquirrelinthewholehole · 03/01/2021 21:12

Jilted... He came up with Enoch.... And look at that shit storm!!! 😂😂😂

OP posts:
bestsquirrelinthewholehole · 03/01/2021 21:13

Isaac was always a fave last time, I still quite like it, so a possibility. Just not sure if I am in love with it.

Chilldonaldchill · 03/01/2021 21:15

Sorry. The Bible Enoch story is ok and I know it - but the name is unusable I think because of Enoch Powell.
How about Jonas or Ezra?

EdgeOfACoin · 03/01/2021 21:18

Aaron as an alternative to Isaac?

Also Zechariah.

SallyCinnamon3009 · 03/01/2021 21:18

No - Enoch Powell is the first thing that comes to
mind

Stinkyjellycat · 03/01/2021 21:19

Asa is nice and seems to fit with the type of names you like.
