My friend (soon to be granny) thinks it's a bit old fashioned, but not in a good way
Obviously, she has agreed with her daughter that it's a nice name. Can have nicknames if she wants. Is a real name etc.
She asks, is it due a revival?
Toddler nessie could be cute?

Ness or Nessie both nice.

I love Vanessa! Nessa, Nessie are both nice and little Nessie monster is a cute baby nickname!!

Where I am from a lot of housing estates are called vanessa way/close etc as it's where Jonathan Swift did a lot of his writing. I think it's lovely (but I do think of 1980s housing!!!)
