Jasper or Ralph

What do you think of Jasper and Ralph?

And if you like these, what other names do you like?

I also like Rory but it doesn’t sound right with our surname.

Jasper us so much nicer anyway than Ralph even with the penis connotations !

I love the name Ralph but my OH said no straight away said it reminds him of the stupid kid in the Simpsons but I think it's super cute

Ooh both of these were on our boys list with my preference being Jasper but OH didn’t like it. I also had Sebastian, Jude and Felix and we have decided if DC2 is a boy he will be named Felix. I also LOVE Roscoe but again OH didn’t so it never even made our list!! You have good taste and I’m sure you will find a name 💙

Jasper seems to be most people’s preference. Ralph was my favourite of the two, but I guess not everyone likes the same things.

Any more name suggestions would still be appreciated though... still got the middle name to think of too!

My DS is called Ralphie, without realising we actually call him Ralph far more than Ralphie.

I really liked Jasper too but my husband wasn't as keen.

Yes. We do use Ralphie, but we often call
him Ralph for short. It wasn't a conscious thing, just a natural shortening I guess. Some of his friends call him it too.

I really don't like Ralph. Jasper is okay if makes me think of the vampire books. I think I prefer Casper or Casimir.

Please, please pick Ralph! If I met you in the park and coo-ed over your lovely baby, and you told me his name was Ralph, I would get a warm, glowy feeling that would last all the way home. Ralph sounds honest, full of goodness, like a boy who will grow into a young man who enjoys nature, knows how to do stuff with his hands and who will be the favourite of his friends' mothers ("Oh, DH, I'm so glad Jake is spending more time with Ralph, he's a great influence on him!").

Jasper seems a bit limp.

I liked Ralph, but it makes me think of Ralph Wiggum (the really stupid kid in the Simpsons). However, maybe that's just me. Jasper is lovely.

Lovely names. I have 3 boys, my latest boy was born on Tuesday.

I have Rory, Stanley and Jasper. The others at the top of my list were Murphy, Flynn & Rafferty as they are Irish but Rafferty really did not go with my surname.
I love Ralph & Ralphie so much too but other half said no xxx

Jasper is awful. He'd be the brother to Harry Enfield's Tim Nice-But-Dim character.
