Need a girls name to go with ....

I'm 35 weeks pregnant, expecting a baby girl. Big brother is William (2) and half brother is Stanley (7) so need a name that will match both of these. I know they don't have to match as a sibset but I would like them to go well together. Currently considering Elisabeth with nn Elsie but other suggestions would be great.

I think I've seen this a lot, how many threads have you started?!

Sylvie

Ellen35 · 02/01/2021 14:09

Well that's because I'm undecided ...
Not keen on Sylvie, doesn't sound like a proper name to me

Katherine

Did you like any of the suggestions from your other threads OP?

I can tell you're really keen on Elsie. For me, if you're going to call her Elsie every day then there is no point calling her Elisabeth. Prefer Elizabeth spelling too :)

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/01/2021 14:25

William Stanley and
Florence
Dorothy
Josephine
Vivienne
Helena

FizzyLion · 02/01/2021 14:32

Elsie could be short for Elspeth if you don't like Elizabeth

Ellen35 · 02/01/2021 14:44

I think I quite like Penelope with nn Nelly. I love Florence but DH hates.

Bryony
Lydia
Esther
Harriet
Freya
Faye
Erin
Jade

BellaVida · 02/01/2021 14:51

If you like Elizabeth, how about:
Esther
Evelyn
Eleanor

namegame10 · 02/01/2021 14:54

Came to say Elizabeth before reading that is a potential front runner. Goes perfectly with your names.

Penelope is gorgeous! Also fits well with the other names/your taste I think.

Other suggestions:
Audrey
Eleanor (Nel/Nelly)
Collette

Vivienne
Theodora
Josephine

Elisabeth is lovely (I may be biased Wink) and don't worry about making loads of threads - picking a name is so hard!

Is there a reason you prefer the s rather than the z spelling? I think you could get Elsie from either. We used the s spelling for a middle name however if it was for a first name I'd consider the z spelling just to make life that bit simpler. Nice either way though.

Personally I prefer Elsa to Elsie, but if you use Elisabeth she can choose herself when older.

How about Katherine/Katharine NN Kitty?

FizzyLion · 02/01/2021 15:28

Also into the mix:
Cassandra (Cassie)
Susannah (Susie)
Matilda (Tilly)

Also love Penelope (Nelly/Nella)

EdgeOfACoin · 02/01/2021 17:06

William, Stanley and

Mary
Beatrice
Elizabeth
Charlotte (nn Lottie)
Alice
Caroline
Eleanor
Rose
Evelyn
Edith (nn Edie)
Margot

TheNanny23 · 02/01/2021 17:32

What happened to Annabel and Matilda?

TheNanny23 · 02/01/2021 17:35

I love Elisabeth/Elizabeth but you have to accept she may end up being Lizzy, Lizzie, Betty, Betsy, Elle, Eliza etc rather than Elsie

MercyBodle · 03/01/2021 12:18

Elizabeth nn Elsie is perfect.

partyatthepalace · 03/01/2021 13:24

Lovely names

I think calling her Elisabeth (or Elizabeth) nn Elsie is a good idea - Elsie is v of the moment, so nice to have a classic option

Edith, Alice, Beatrice, Thora, Clara, Emma, Philippa nn Pippa, Eleanor nn Nell, Katharine nn Kitty

Have you chosen a name now!?
