What do you think of this name?
Any similar suggestions? Like Celeste too

I also really like the French Solène (so-len)

It's OK - if you are pronouncing with 2 syllables I prefer Selena.

If you want to use 3 syllables - which I think is really nice and the original pronunciation - than I'd go with Selene as people will be less likely to default to Celine Dion pronunciation.

But I would probably spell it Celine if you want to pronounce it with 2 syllables just for easiness.

I like it. It’s similar to the name we’ve picked. We wanted to have the nn CeCe without choosing the name Cecelia so had thought about Celeste but it really didn’t suit our other children’s names so we’ve opted for Celina. I have a name that isn’t spelt the way it sounds or you’d think it was spelt and honestly it isn’t too much trouble having to correct people on one or two letters so I don’t think Selene opposed to Celine would be too much trouble. Or maybe it just doesn’t bother me as much as it should.

I prefer Céline.
I also like Celeste, Estelle, Solange and Sabine.

I’ve changed usernames for this....

My name is Selene, I wouldn’t recommend it tbh.

Nobody can pronounce it, I have people who’ve known me for years who still try and call me celine - it’s like Selene doesn’t even register in their
Heads as a name.

There’s only so many times you can correct people before it’s just uncomfortable - they don’t do it on purpose.

Everything comes spelled wrong, no matter how many times you correct them everything arrives addressed to Selena - which is a huge pain for official things.

And it’s so uncommon that not only have I never met another one, but no-one I’ve met has ever met another one... and I’m pretty easily googleable with very little information.
