I posted yesterday regarding Rosie or Clara for dd, were just not 100% sure on them so thought I'd ask for advice regarding the rest of our list, its seems we just can't make a decision?

Rosalie rather than Rosie.
I like Clara but it sounds odd in some accents (friend's pronunciation is more Claire-a)
I like Anna but the others wouldn't be on my list.

Clara sounds classy and pretty. That’s my favourite from your list.

I used to love Isabel but I know 5 Isabel’s (well) and I have become very bored of it.

Thea I used to like but again, I know two, well and 2 in dds class so feel similarly about that name.

Really not a fan of Anya.

Rosie, I know two, they are dogs (as in canine).

Good luck with name search, it’s a minefield.

They're all nice, although to me Rosie is a pet's name. My favourites are Thea, Anya, Isabel and Anna.

Thea and Clara are beautiful.
Anya is lovely.
Anna and Alice are very nice.
Isabel is over used.
I don't like Rosie.

Rosie - prefer as a nn for rose etc as bit little girl on its own
Clara - popular but lovely
Anna - lovely, classic, underused
Alice - nice but a lot of them, bit little girl

Rosie and Anna are my favourites from your list. Love Anna.

Clara’s so popular now and I don’t understand why, I always think it sounds a bit clunky.

Anna, definitely. I agree Clara sounds a bit clunky. I find the KHLAR sound quite harsh.

Wow, I much prefer the rest of your list to Rosie (or even the lovely Clara - which is still part of the "old- lady" trend resurgence - like Ada, Mabel, Florence, Evelyn, Iris etc)

  1. Rosie - a cute nn
  2. Clara - very pretty but a bit trendy at the moment
  3. Anna - gorgeous classic, simple, elegant, international - perfect!
  4. Alice - English classic, suits all ages, can't really go wrong
  5. Isabel - beautiful, classic and elegant (just a shame there are lots of similar Isabelle's/Isabella's at the moment)
  6. Anya - quirky and fun (but you can use this as a nn/pet name for Anna?)
  7. Thea - lovely and classical but could have pronounciation issues

Rosie - don’t like this. Sounds too sweetie. Go with a full name like Rosemary or Rosalind and shorten to Rosie maybe.
Clara - like
Anna - beautiful
Alice - classic
Isabel - too many around and I dislike Izzy
Anya - most unusual of your list. Like

Alice and Anna are my favourites, both non-fussy classical timeless gorgeous names.
I also really like Clara.

Anya and Isabel are ok - I prefer Isobel but know a lot of little Izzys.
Rosie is lovely, but as a nickname for Rose, Rosa, Rosita, Rosina, Rosalie.
Thea I don't see the appeal in sorry - I find it quite "of the moment".

Every one of your names is lovely, usable and modern but also timeless, so I can see why you're finding it hard! Can you cross off any for not sounding great with your surname?

Rosie - sweet, characterful, accessible.
Clara - I prefer the more unusual Clair-ah pronunciation. Generally a well-liked, sophisticated name but the usual pronunciation sounds hard to me.
Anna - strong and classic, one of my favourites.
Alice - classic but sweeter, gentler feel than Anna.
Isabel - feisty, characterful. The popularity would put me off a little though.
Anya - sophisticated but accessible. Not over-used.
Thea - gentle, ethereal sounds. Interesting, but I prefer stronger sounds.

My favourites are Anna, Anya, Rosie and Alice.
